When it's too cold for you to ride.
You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.

First year I had my bike I rode all the way into December. I just put Staybil in there about when I figured I wasn't gonna ride much longer & removed the battery when I knew for sure.
Not like you can't UNwinterize it in less than 5 minutes... just put the battery back in & ride it w/ the Staybil in there... just top it off & put some more in when ya get home.

When it gets below freezing and my battery will freeze.

A battery won't freeze if it's charged, the heat degrades a battery also

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
The day of or before the first snow (a snow that will stick around the rest of the season that is). That's when I officially pack it in for the season and pull her into the back porch for the winter.
see ya,

Once the temp goes below 50 I "usually" call it quits.
I think I'll try to avoid riding in the snow & salt this year.
I did it the last few years just for the hell of it but I'm not sure it's the most fun use of my time.
But I never really totally winterize. I leave the bike on the charger all the time anyway, the only thing I do differently in the winter is I put some Stabil in there, even if I keep riding it all winter it might go a week or two without getting started.
many riders schedule their winterization around their insurance policy
it's common to have a 7/5 policy, and take the bike off the road from Nov1 to April 1
