Fuel pump relay blowing

Any ideas what may be causing it?
At the NJMP the gsxr started to sputter then just shut down. I could start the bike, give it some gas. As soon as I put it in gear and gave it some throttle it would die. When I was in the pits, I heard a pop in the tail of the bike. After that the fuel pump wouldn't prime. When I got home and replaced the fuel pump relay with a new one. The bike started then died again. Now the pump isn't priming again, becuse the relay is blown.

So.....?

You may have to chase all the wires that lead to and from it??? Poss when you put the new harness in there was a routing spot that has worn thru and grounding out the relay...

Did you pinch the replacement one you put in anywhere?

Only something drawing on the relay can blow the relay.

Check the ground for the fuel pump and check/swap the fuel pump.
