Can someone please tell me what weights and HP those MotoGP2 & MotoGP3 bikes are making?? Can't find it on the internet. I'm just wondering how far is the MotoGP2 bikes compared to AMA supersport class or even my own R6?
Thinking the moto2 bikes make less power than world super sport bikes but weigh less. Not much of an answer but figure honda builds all the moto 2 engines the same for consistency between motors, and need to have decent reliability between rebuilds, while in wss teams are all pushing the limits to gain a hp edge.

Moto2 bikes put out around 125hp at the wheel.
AMA DSB bikes are 120-125
WSB SS bikes are 140-145
My Graves R6 on pump gas is 122. :-D
I remember reading an article where I thought they were putting the Moto3 bikes north of 45 hp. At the time I remember thinking that as huge for a 250 single but I could be wrong.
I thought I heard the commentators on Moto3 mention that the bikes were about 54hp. I was appalled how fast they go with that little power!
A little looking yields-
From the MotoGP site, weight of bike PLUS rider is
148kg(325lb) minimum with 55+hp for Moto3,
215 kg(473lb) minimum with 140+hp for Moto 2,
and 157 kg(346lb) BIKE ONLY with 240hp for MotoGP.
Guess my 250kg SV with rider at 65hp is a little outclassed!

Again going back to race commentary, I have heard that the Moto2's are "much heavier and harder to turn than the other classes." I think I've answered your original query, compared to your R6 the Moto 2 bikes are lighter and have more power. Some of the info is here- URL="http://www.motogp.com/en/MotoGP+Basics/bikes"]http://www.motogp.com/en/MotoGP+Basics/bikes[/URL]
Further digging shows the Moto2 215kg limit was instituted for 2013, previously the bike had a min. weight of 135kg. I think the 160kg weight for MotoGP is the bike-only min. weight. It's very difficult to find reliable info about this that doesn't conflict. I've seen 157kg for Honda and Yamaha bike weights.

the Moto2 engines are essentially HRC equipped CBR600RR engines. mid 120s for HP is the number I've heard.

Don't forget, in GP it's not just the engines. All 3 of the classes are specialty built racing chassis. Much more purpose built than the production stuff we have, or the stuff they're racing in AMA/WSBK/WSS. Makes a huge difference...ie...moto2 faster laps than WSS with 20 less hp
Factors to consider with all the horsepower numbers displayed in this thread. How the horsepower is measured. Horsepower could be measured at the crankshaft (yielding the highest numbers), the axle/brake, or the rear wheel. Still 240hp and sub 400 pounds is.
I measure horsepower by the silly grin on my face when twisting the throttle.
