Mount up a solenoid under the passenger seat / cowl and hinge the plate. Some linkage between the two, hit a switch and the tag folds up flat.
But on the other hand, I agree...while funny to think about you've just landed yourself a vandalism charge at least, and depending on the outcome, vehicular manslaughter / homicide when said cager is txt'ing then kills themselves or someone else as a result.
And you run the risk of them clipping you, spider webbed or blurred windshield or not, they'll still be able to see enough.
The kids would like the bubble idea though![]()

what I like to do if someone wants to go faster than me is pull over and let them pass...works great.

some of the things I have found that work to keep tailgaters at a safe distance
1. obnoxiouly loud pipes
2. something loose on the back of your bike,
3. stand up on pegs turn around raise visor and stare (only works if you are intimidaitng size)

Not always a good idea. The last car to tailgate me (dangerously close) went from a white dot in my mirror to nearly riding pillion in record breaking time, was none other than a county sheriff. I thought of doing the DucDave thing and pulling over but figured if I did and he stopped, I'd end up getting arrested for the ration of shit I would have given him for that blatant stupidity.
Oh I know I was only kidding, that happened to me once on the MA pike, I was in the highspeed lane doing mid-80's and before I knew it there was a dark blue car right on my butt. I juiced it to give myself some space, and the blues came on, of course when we got on the side of the road and he didn't make it halfway to the bike before I started lecturing him about following a bike close like that. He let me go with an apology on his part![]()
What if it was just windshield washer fluid, you could tell the cop he was driving so far up my ass, he had my shit on his windshield and i was helping him clean it off...
This is what i do.. infact i did it to Bolton PD the other night on 117 when he was tailgating me... I thought he was going to pull me over but he just passed me with the foot to the metal... I'll tell ya, those Police Chargers sound pretty good!! I think it had a Hemi!

You need to tie a skunk to the back of the bike, and when someone starts tailgating, have a device squeeze it and make it spray the shit outta the car behind you. I bet that would make him back off in a second.

i dont see how thats any worse then when the car in front decides to wash his windsheild and it ends up all over you.

lol +100 yeah its great how people do that and while your leaning on your horn trying to get out of the lane just stare at you while they continue.
personally I ususally just tap the brakes and if that doesn't work I physically wave them off and if that doesn't work I'm pulling over. Too many dumb, possibly unbalanced people out there. And for the record i think thats awesome! You should deffinately mount a sparker behind it![]()
You need a louder horn. When I started commuting on my FJR, it was evident that the moped horn they put on bikes was going to be useless. Enter stebel nautilus air horn. I separated the compressed from the horn head and mounted the compressor under my rear seat and dremeled the old horn brackett a bit to get it to hold the horn head in place in it's original location. Connected the two with some fuel line and voilà, a horn on my bike that gets noticed! I miss having my SV1000S, but on the other hand I could never do half the mods to that one as I have on my FJR. http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/2137/

as someone said earlier spray and take off not that hard. . . its one thing to tailgate a car but i've had a few cars 5 feet off my bumper at 80mph . . . i would have used this rig without second thought .
Fuck them they should know better.

Amanda had a Cherokee that the rear washer sprayer was broken and actually sprayed straight back....that worked pretty well. It was high enough to cover the distance and get on the hood/windshield area.

if your getting tailgated, chances are you're going wayyyyyyy to slow, traveling in the left lane instead of PASSING, or refusing to let someone pass you.
this thread is over a year old, and links to the videos of the actual fluid sprays were taken off of youtube
does anyone have those original videos anymore?
