was suffering from case douchebaggery and only cure was a Honda CRV's passenger door
Long story short, I got impatient and thought I could make yellow light that car in front of me was stopping for, gunned it past stopped car right into the honda who started to make left turn in front of me just as I was entering intersection. He panic stopped while right in my path and I was already heavy on brakes at this time and slid right into him. His door is toast. He was is fine. I'm fine. He needs new door panel. I need new light assembly, mirrors, frame sliders, paint (forks seem to be okay and I think guy grabbed rear hugger to help lift the bike and it ripped off) and dose of responsibility
I guess if your going to be stupid you have to pay the price. I may keep rash on bike for visual reminder to not rush, being safe and responsible always should take precedent over pushing the envelope. And not to get cocky, over confident and complacent when riding, shame poor bike has to pay for my life lesson.
those old r6's are commiting lots of suicide lately.

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
The important part is your still above ground. The bike can be fixed easier than you.
Lesson learned & sounds like you know what you did and can learn from it.
Glad to hear your still hear and doing good!![]()
warrenty must be up.

Glad you're ok and good job on accepting responsibility. So many would have searched for an excuse.
Glad your ok, thats all that matters. Bike can be replaced you can not.
Glad to hear you're ok.Bikes are replaceable, people aren't.
Watch this video- sobering reminder of what could have happened when you t-boned that car.. this dude was on a R6 too...

Glad the only thing hurt was your pride - motorcycles can be replaced.

If i was the guy in the car my insurance company would tell me i was in some sort of speed event and i am not covered...am i right degsy?
Glad your ok, I try to limit my stupidity to lowsides, try starting with that, then work your way up.
It definitely sucks learning lessons the hard way (been there, done that, had the bike taken away by the salvage yard yesterday). But the fact that you weren't hurt is the only part that matters in the end.
Hold your right hand out in front of you. Turn the palm up. Swiftly bend at the elbow bringing the palm into your forehead while saying "stupid". Repeat as necessary...
Glad you're OK. Bikes are cheap when compared to ER visits (if you're lucky). Don't make the same mistake twice (make new and creative ones daily)...

glad to hear that youre all right , i guess that ride will be put off for a little while .
did your Man God put up a post saying that you were late coming home and that he was worried ?
on a side note a guy i was working with at my base was riding an r6 and got rear ended at a toll booth and broke his arm.
Thanks for the concern everyone. Your all correct, bike can be repaired (already started pricing it out) I cannot. I was very lucky that it was not worse. I am kicking myself every second for my stupidityOh well shit happens, learn from it.
Copac-Worse is light assembly...lights work, casing is smashed. We are going to replace asap. Everything else is not a necessity. As far as I can tell, bike runs fine. Will keep an eye on tire to make sure no bubble forms from where it hit car. There is marks of missing paint on rim so at least we will see where problem would occur. Want to maybe have replacement in as early as next weekend. So, I see no reason to not go for a ride. Drew was sleeping when this happened. But when I saw/told him naturally he was upset , but glad I was okay. Sorry to hear about your friend but glad for the most part he is okay and will live to ride again.
I am cheap but
I don't believe sport bikes can ever hit anything without
bending something frame, triple or fork tubes
If you could afford it I would have the frame etc checked for straightness
like at a GMD
Don't be too upset.
I'm sure we all have had the feeling on "acting on impulse" on the bike before. Its not like we're sitting down in the library thinking about the best decision possible when riding. Its a different environment so your thought process is different depending on your level of riding.
As in when you're just starting out, I remember It was nervous as hell because there were so manny things to pay attention to etc..
But after 4-5 years of riding your thought process changes.
Basically, when people go " why did that biker do something that stupid" well its simple, at the time you weren't thinking with the state of mind thats as calm and relaxed as say someone driving in a car.
Plus when you're on a bike, its difficult contemplate decisions for a lengthy a mount of time.
nobody mentioned to ride only when you are wide awake and allert tired riders screw up. There are times when its unavoidable to ride tired or in bad conditions but they should be minimized. Get right back on a bike so as not to loose your confidence. That was a sweet looking bike - great that you are ok!
