Hey everybody. This is my first time here. I appreciate any input. I'm trying to buy a 13 wr450 the guy lives in West Virginia. He told me that the original title says off road use only. He did everything to get it street legal. Passed inspection then the Rmv gave him a new title with one extra number added to the VIN for street use. Does that sound legit. Just want to make sure it's a 9 hour trip one way to pick it up.
Call the rmv and have them run the Vin. For a trip that long I would do it anyway to find out if the bike is legit.
An added number to the VIN makes it illegal IMO VIN's are 17 characters long period.
1 extra # to the vin
how many digits on the vin that's on the bike

I have a clean Titled not CFO(Certificate of Origin)... 04 WR450F in NH. Title was issued by NH and I did it all myself. I would say hold out and purchase a NH titled or MA one. Long drive for a bike. You could ask on Supermotojunkie as if thats how they do it in Virginia i am sure there is a few. NH is differnt.

if you are realy bent on this bike.....what worked for me when i bought a registered dirtbike from maine was having the maine dmv write on DMV letterhead that any bike under 300ccs? did not require a title. they also referenced the state regs on it and signed/ dated included a phone #. This helped me alot when I went to MA dmv to register it as street legal and the previous Maine registration.
hmmmm......
