Remeber all that crap I posted 2 weeks ago about it maybe being the bikers fault if a cager hit his parked bike. Mine got hit today on corner of Newbury and Berkeley St. I parked it at least 4 feet from the back of a car, and the f&%cker had parking assist in his 8 series BMW....."Beeeeep Beeep Beeeep Don't hit that large bright orange object in your mirrors dumb ass!!!" THANK GOD he left contact info on the bike and picked it back up for me. He was even nice enough to leave my broken mirror on my seat....thats helpful, thanks!!
Arggghhhh!!!! I was hoping I could get through the bikes first season w/o replacing plastics......thanks for letting me vent!

IT WAS YOUR FAULT!!!!!!![]()
Think of it in a positive way. Season's over. You get to make a fat insurance claim, get lots of parts replaced, then sell off the "scratched/nicked" parts on ebay and make a profit. Then you can spend that money on upgrades for the bike. See, everyone's a winner, except the BMW guy.

Oh man... I feel your pain!
My first biek was a 1991 EX500. I had it 29 days and someone backed into it from its right side... raised it up in the air on the side stand... then it fell hard onto it's left side.
It was my neighbor who backed into it(I was living at an apartment at the time). He was so apologetic! I told him to relax and said "that's why we have insurance"
I got paid... fixed it up mostly and sold it soon after.
It doesn't end there. I had a 2001 Katana 750... less than a month old... took it in to have its breakin service... the dealer dropped it.
I'ma big guy... the dealer didn't tell me until I went to pick it up... he told me what happened with a little bit of fear in his eyes.... I told him just fix it and we'd be fine. Well... it took them several months to do it. We're not fine anymore.

I schecule a pick up and go there to find
My wife at the time did me the favor of driving it off the lot for me.

Just be thankful he didn't leave you high and dry. People usually try to get away with that stuff. The replacements will be on him. It sux because it is an inconvenience, but I would say you made out. Especially if you own the bike outright, you can take the money and fix it yourself.
Hello, already happened! This may some dumb DUI bitch hit & totalled my SV while it was parked. As a result I got to upgrade to my Z (which is the bike I planned to get next year), buy the SV salvage back for $500, turn it into a track bike, use it on the track a few times, then sold it for $3k, and ended up making a profit on the whole ordeal. The only caveat was that I had to miss 2 weeks of prime riding weather in May, oh well, small price to pay. So there, eat your heart outOriginally posted by SWEET_Z
