Contact the manufacturer and hopefully they'll give you both props and some PR or a new ride.
Speak up first before the other guy wants the spot light.

Suf Daddy.
I envy you both. Wish I put anywhere near that on my ride.

You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
I just rolled 45,000 on the Hawk and I was out for most of the summer.

Thats pretty cool you have ridden the SV that many miles.
I bought a brand enw SV the year they came out, the fucker blew up on me with 800 miles - the early bikes needed some sort of baffle in the oil pan to keep the front cylinder from starving. I guess thats what happened to mine.![]()
Fucktards from Suzuki accused me of "significantly overreving" the bike, which I never did.![]()
Anyways, I'll stop whining now.
Glad to hear you're getting your use out of 'er.![]()
it was the beginning of the second year of production that Suzuki got the bright idea of saving 0.3 grams of aluminum casting, the 00s are the ones that got the recall for retrofitting a baffle, not the 99s... and even then, reving wasn't the problem, wheelieing was.Originally posted by highsider

I think I'm gonna ride this winter. There's no reason why I can't. All I need is to get the right gear, and I should be all set.
Yup.
Actually, now that I think about it, mine might have been second year.....I'll have to go home and look, I think I still have the owner's manual.Originally posted by RandyO

Apparently, according to Suzuki, wheelieing and hard accleration have the same effect of running all of the oil to the rear cylinder. It doesn't matter much in my own instance, because I never did either with the bike - I was still quite a newbie. But I remember clearly, it was the front cylinder which started knocking viciously.
In any case, I never heard of anyone else having these issues, and its good to hear that someone got 100K out of a bike that was $6000 or less new![]()
