never really figured it out...the bike sips fuel...mount a couple of these manual tubes and throw a couple msr bottles on your bike if you need extra fuel...clarke also sells a 2.7gal tank which i have on my bike...there is also the xt225 or xt350 tanks that can be made to fit the bike that hold ~ 4-4.1gal

Bump for the Turd-Wagon-200!
Question: tire selection. All kinds? Or just one or two?
plenty of front tires choices...only 3 oem size rear tires...some fit ATV tires in the rear...some are DOT...some aren't...
sets...
Bridgestone TW31 & TW34 (stock)
Bridgestone TW203 & TW204 (road tires)
Shinko SR428 (road tires)

Maine does not title motorcycles under 300cc in displacement. To register such a bike in Mass, you need a bill of sale and either a dealer assignment, or the previous Maine registration: I was at the RMV Wednesday and asked them to show me exactly what I needed. The Supervisor printed it out and yellow-highlighted the requirement.
Get there this morning with both the dealer assignment from a ME dealer to the previous owner and the previous owner's registration, signed over to me. Only needed one of those docs.
"You need a title."
"No, Maine doesn't title motorcycles under 300cc, here's a copy of their website, here's a copy of the RMV website saying the same thing, and here's the document the Supervisor gave me Wednesday."
Lady comes back "She said to call the title office." Dials up and gets placed on hold.
While she is holding, I look around and spot the woman who gave me the doc Wednesday. "The Supervisor who gave me that document and highlighted the page is in Booth 10."
"Oh? She's the one who told me to call Title."
So we march down there. "Remember me? I was here earlier in the week and asked you to please print out exactly what I needed for this transaction. The document you gave me says I need a dealer assignment or registration: and I have both."
"OK - give him the title."
Next - "I'd like to get a Veteran's plate." "You need your DD214." "But I have a Veteran's license and two other bikes registered with Vet plates."
"We need to have a hard copy of the DD214 every time we issue a new reg."
"But that's not something I like to carry around."
"Oh, you can bring a copy."
Walked in at 9:15, walked out at 10:45, but I have a plate!

Then get home and put in the rear tube, being extra careful to keep the tire irons away. Inflate the tube and hear "pshhhhhh." WTF?
I was pushing the air between the tire and tube out through the spoke holes. All good.

I had the same thing trying to get a vet plate. They WOULDNT issue one without a dd214 in hand. Even though I currently have one, and have had 2 more previously.
They agreed it was ridiculous, but stood their ground nonetheless.

That's what makes no sense to me. My short form DD214 is the official doc. My "official" discharge is only available as a poor photocopy. To fake such a copy would be trivial, if someone wanted to. I guess I'll just mail the $40 to the Old Soldiers Home directly.....

It's official. Despite the 55mph "recommended" top speed, I've ridden the TW200 more miles since I got it than the Tiger.
Last night, I was going to a meeting in South Boston and stopped at a stop sign. A couple walked up just as I was about to pull out. I said "Hey, you don't want to get run down by the fat tire flier." And the guy said "That bike is freakin' awesome." I don't know what it is but it brings a smile to people's faces.
....But I still want a Rokon....

When I brought it home my wife said "mine." As my son and both daughters also said "mine" I considered it an idle threat.
My wife went to the RMV, got her permit, and took the BRC.

That's totally sick, but at the same time, I just can't stop asking myself...why.

TW200 remains unmolested. Went to ride it last weekend and lost the 2016 decal for the plate!

I get it, it's rad.
It's bordering on souped up civic territory, except infinitely cooler.

agreed. he's dangerously close to adding a wooden wing to the rear rack...
def looks to have some cool mods though: longer swingarm?, wider triples?, BW/ATC front fender?, Kawi rad shrouds? just needs to put down the sticker pack and swap the mill for a YZ490. woooo!

Sucks that all the photos are gone. I remember this being pretty nifty when finished.
We have ours in Boston at the moment (it's my "Winter Armageddon" bike) but I can't wait to get it on some of the trails in NH. Should be a lot of fun.
