"There are occaisions in this world when you're allowed to step inside a sonnet, when clocks stop, and you don't worry about time's winged chariot and hands that beckon to you from the shadows."
James Lee Burke - Swan Peak
Ever had a moment like this???
I have had a few and they are indeed spiritual. On a solo ride through Northern Maine when the trees form a canopy of pale green and I ignore the instruments and pitch in strictly by feel. For mile after mile. I'm invisible and so completely in tune with everything I barely need to breath.
On the track, when I have stopped thinking about everything, and without even caring put up my best time ever.
I can't summon these at will. I can only be grateful when they happen, unbidden....

Normally Id call you a hippy thats been smoking the bad ganja, but I gotta be honest, it happened to me once at a concert, still something I look back at and just smile about. Never had that awesome moment on the bike though, usually just zone out and relax.
...not now chief, I'm in the fuckin zone
I have also fallen asleep while riding
one time I woke up riding 80mph on I-95 somewhere near Midway, Georgia

I know what ya mean, Dave. There are times when youre riding through a beautiful landscape, and the lighting and the air are just right, everything meshes perfectly and it becomes more than just a ride...it becomes a memory worth savoring.
Then it's back to the real world...![]()
ive had those moments too dave. but i cant seem to remember any of them, the moment just "clicks" when i ride sometimes. def brings a smile to your face.
