just got home from jamestown,
my ass is sore and i am cold, wet and tired.
i also recall now why i dont like riding in the rain. the last 200 miles to get home were not dry at all. oh... and hail hurts like hell at 80... even with your leathers on over your rain suit.
i do however like that bike more and more with every ride.
oh yea... fieldsheer red leather jackets... bleed red liquid all over the frokking place when thoroughly soaked.
that is all.
carry on.
oohhhh, that sucks.... but why'd ya have your leather on OVER your rain gear?![]()

well i tried it the other way first and it was uncomfortable, teh rain jacket kept sticking to the leather jacket, it was hard to move. so i swapped em. it seemed much more comfy and weatherproof to me inside everything. it probably looked ritarded but who cares.

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
Leather just sucks in the rain. I wore my leathers up to VT this weekend and it rained part of the way on the way up and part of the way on the way back. Just miserable. I feel hot & sweaty by the time I even get the raingear on.
Give me cordura and let me skip the rain gear any day.
Nice to see you are enjoying the new bike.. sounds like a pretty cool trip.

Is Monday's still there?

well... i didn't go looking for Monday's, but i did ask about it, the locals said its the town gay bar!??!!?
and that you are missed![]()
oh and yesterday was my personal longest day on record.
689 miles in one day. my butt hurts.
Almost nothing can break in leathers like a good rainstorm can. Unfortunitely, the only better breaking in is crashing in 'em...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
That is interesting... mine were finally starting to feel somewhat comfy yesterday.Originally posted by Stoneman

I figured leather would shrink a little if it got wet... so maybe if I get caught in the rain the suit will get softer?
They'll feel more 'crunchy' at first (after getting 'em wet), but they soften up real nice like in no time...Originally posted by benSV

Used to use that trick when I played ball. Got a new glove, soaked 'er down with good ol' water, folded 'er up, and had my pops park a car on it for a coupla days...
Work boots too!

Yep I had definitely thought about the baseball glove thing...
Never did the water thing though. It was always some mysterious oil & stick a ball in and tie it up for a few days.
Where did you get your rain suit from? I've been meaning to get one for a while now.
Yup.
Walmart
I got my Stearns there the year of 2003 durring Stonnerstock and it has been used on the bike and off.
For 25 bucks if it rips, who cares?

i have used a walmart suit twice, and they ripped up real quick... not too many miles outta them.
this time i got a tourmaster suit from the dealership... with the 10%off it was $45.. not too bad and i stayed reasonably dry once i put em on.![]()
