    2-up/beginner/chill ride, Sat 5/24/08

I'm gonna be "organizing" a ride this Saturday & although I haven't set a route yet, we'll either be going up along the coast of MA, NH and Maine or heading out west into NH/VT... I haven't decided yet.

EDIT: It's gonna be something kinda like this
slightly less nutty version for my personal info

Meeting at MASCONOMET Regional High School in BOXFORD, MA at 10:45.... It's just off rte 95, exit 51 on the Northbound side of the highway.

ANYONE is welcome to join us. You don't HAVE to be a beginner or riding 2-up.

Pace will be spirited, but not retarded.

I'd like to limit the size of this ride to about 10-15 bikes. If it gets beyond that I'll probably break it up into two groups but I don't really see that happening (nor do I really WANT for that to happen)

And as always, on my rides, crashing is not allowed.

    List of attendees so far:

    1 - Pete & Jenni (OreoGitorio & ItsaZuki)
    2 - Nick & Melissa (ff36buell & his girlfriend)
    3 - Philip & Annie (Jenni's brother & his girlfriend)

If you'd like to attend, please copy & paste the last posted list into your post & add your name at the bottom.

Maybe I shouldn't have said "beginner/chill" ... It's just not retarded fast.... not to be confused with "slow"

    Re: 2-up/beginner/chill ride, Sat 5/24/08

no, absolutely anyone is welcome (edited the first post to reflect that). I only said 2-up/beginner/chill because I wanted to spark some interest for people that don't normally attend NESR group rides & convey that it's not gonna be a blaze-fest... no land speed records will be set on Saturday

But Like I said, it'll still be a fun, spirited ride.

Shit, last year during the Miss Twisties ride I led the "slow" group & we ended up being the fast group

Damnit, why do you have to start in Belmont... I might be able to hook up with the ride once you get near the end.

I might have to change that since Nick has sand in his Vagina... we might just have to start at his house so he & his girlfriend can sleep off tha boooooze.

In fact, that's an awesome idea... We'll meet at Nick's place in North Reading at 8am

Forget the last map. A different map will get posted later.

Jenni's opinion is that we've always said we were leaving Belmont around 10:30-11

Well, if you shift the start point anywhere closer to the north shore I'll go. North Reading sounds good to me.

    Re: 2-up/beginner/chill ride, Sat 5/24/08

Ok.... Starting from Masconomet. Going East through my 'back yard' to Manchester, Gloucester, Rockport, Essex, up to Plum Island, then North, along the coast up to Ogunquit & back.

    Something kinda like this

probably gonna end up being pretty scenic & tourist-y, but whatever.

    Word?

Nice route Pete, if I have the right one (up the coast). I went that way 2 weeks ago although I didn't skip 1A. Roads were in great shape but a lot of the good eats are still closed.

BTW, it's socially unacceptable to drive off the road, staring at butt floss with your girl on the back. Just sayin' ....

I like that route a lot! We should pop down the Wingaersheek (sp?) beach road off 133. Nutty turns on it, and going down and back doesn't take long at all.

What time are we meeting near Masco?

Edited this thread so there are only two links.... and both links point to the same map.

Also deleted all wrong info to avoid confusion.

    Re: 2-up/beginner/chill ride, Sat 5/24/08

When we get to Plum Island, we can either stop at the airport, hang out for a few & then head back to 1A & keep going, or we can continue on & go down the full length of Plum Island. That'll add about 30-40 minutes to the trip.

Also, when we get to Kittery, we can either keep on going up to Ogunquit or stop there & cut over to rte 1 & head back home.

Me thinks that might end up being a call the ladies will make.

NEW MEETING TIME FOR THE WHINERS.

    LEAVING MASCO BY 9:30AM

(Yes... leaving by 11 at the latest )

Weather forecast as of right now says it'll be mid-low 60's w/ a 20% chance of precip all the way up & down the coast from Beverly to Ogunquit. Perfect riding weather & hopefully chilly enough to keep the beachgoers at home.
