Saw this in NY. There will be plenty of haters but it's a freekin game changer...and looks way better in person.

Matter of taste, obviously. I thought it was even uglier in person. To the point that when I saw it in Montreal I actually said out loud, "Oh my god, that's hideous."
Cyclewise/Ducati VT is having a Diavel launch party too, at Red Square here in Burlington, for whoever's interested. I may have zero interest in the bike, but the Cyclewise guys are a great bunch. For those who actually are interested in this bike, I'm sure the party will be a good time.

I wouldnt mind having one.
I love this bike
How has the game changed? I mean, it looks different, does it do something different?
I saw the bike in person as well. Sat on it. I don't get it...nor do I get the market that's being targeted. Is Ducati going after Harley or VMax riders? Tough to break into the Harley group, particularly at a $21K price tag. I just don't see the market for this bike. Aging Ducati riders, maybe? Though most of them are probably migrating to the Multistrada. I don't see this bike going anywhere for Ducati.

Ohhh, ok, they're going after the VMax market. I get it now.
21k does sound expensive but I believe that's right around the VMax price point also.
Is there a VMax market? Do people buy those things? I can't say I've seen more than a handful on the road.
$21k was the price for the model above the base...but still...
I guess we'll have to see how it does. I can see a VMax market...but is that big enough to justify the expense of rolling out a completely new model?

I still don't see how there is "nothing else like it". Seems like a V max with a Ducati badge on it. Clones, copies, and imitations are fine (sometimes those are even better than the originals), but how is this revolutionary? (serious question)

I'm a die-hard Duc lover, and this bike just doesn't impress me any.
It's certainly not groundbreaking or game changing, someone's always trying to take their sportbike tech and shove it in a gentler chassis. Look at the V65 Magna when it was released - Honda's race V4 tech in a cruiser chassis that would shit and get with the best of them at a drag strip, could out corner anything HD produced, etc. I'd say it set the stage for the power-cruiser concept, all Duc has done is raised the bar a notch with the Diavel. None of the tech is new, it's just rehashed MTS/1198 gear, although you don't get the electronic suspension option like you do with the MTS...
Hell, this isn't even new territory for Ducati, it's an Indiana Mark 2.

Sorry but I like pure sport bikes...GSXR, RC51, CBR, R1 and the likes, this "thing" does nothing for me it doesn't even look sexy like the aformentioned machines!!!

It's 2 minutes for any capable adult.
I sat on the Diavel in NYC. It's a tank...very wide and the bars curve back toward you in a very odd way. It felt way too big and awkward and I hated the handlebar setup. Honestly, I was intrigued by the bike until I saw it in person and sat on it. At that point, I hated it.

It's Ducati's take on the Harley V-rod...which was Harley's take on a sportbike.![]()
For all my W. Mass homies, Valley Motorsports in Northampton is doing a premier as well. This Friday from 4-7. I'm going for the refreshments. I need 2-stroke oil anyways.
