    my weekend ride report

I've been planning attending a RideToEat, breakfast at Paul Smith's Sugarbush for about a month now, the weather could have been better, but it wasn't that bad either

Saturday mornng, up at 4am, I quickly get my gear on and out to my bike, its raining, or is it snowing.... a little of both, took my winter tires off 3 weeks ago, wish I still had them

when I got to 140 in Alton to Gilmanton, the road was covered with about ½' of snow with no tracks, it was slick and I wanted to be 250 miles away by 9am

by the time I got to Gilmanton, the snow was rain again, I was able to pick my pace up, it rained off and on, I made it to the temporary ferry by 7:30am

by 9:30 am I was at the Sugarbush, eating waffles & hot maple syrup, met with a couple other riders that rode up from Virginia , swapped a few bad riding weather stories, I had a new one, one of my Neos overboots wasn't secured well and I ended up with my left foot soaked.

after breakfast, I headed out for some Adirondack riding , the weather cleaded up some and roads were mostly dry with a few scattered showers & wet roads. I went tto the regular places while I was ther, Hurricane Road, Tracy Road, etc then north to Rouses Point bridge back to VT where I spent the night at my Dad's house in Hinesburg

Sunday ride back wasn't much different, mostly dry roads, but some wet, and some scattered showers with the exception of Rt17 over Appalachia Gap, where luckily for me, the plows had been out earlier and put a heavy coat of salt down, higher elevations got as much as 6" of the fluffy white stuff

somewhere over the weekend, my odometer went thru the 50k mark, about 600 miles for the weekend

I took my studded knobbies off a few weeks ago, and put back on my Continental Trail Attacks from last season that still have about 25-30% tread, I was hesitant to put them back on at only 30% tread, but my budget was tight and I wanted to get the studded tires off while I stil had another winter season left on them

Just riding with Randy in the summer takes balls! Randy is a animal, on the dirt roads. We followed him in a outback, & I saw a puff of dust once or twice!
