Please join us for a ride to Curtis’ Ribs in Putney Vermont! Starting with a pleasant romp through the best of southwest New Hampshire scenic byways to Vermont and Curtis' All American Barbecue Pit.
After lunch we’ll head off to some VT twisties and maybe a stop for Ice Cream at Quechee Gorge! From there we could jump on 89 and slab it home or ride along the Connecticut river and past St.Gaudens Studio and back roads to Bedford where the ride ends!
Please arrive at Seacoast no later than 9:15 fueled up and wearing appropriate gear!
So...

I am probably in for this. I'll be in the state visiting that week. How many miles are each half of the ride, approximately?
My wife is deciding whether to come along on pillion. (My bike will still be in St. Louis, so I, or we, will be on her bike.)

In! if you guys don't mind a noob to the Seacoast rides..
Yes just needed a little adjusting thanks for asking looking forward to Sunday cu soon
I'm guessing this is more of a "enjoy the scenery" ride, than a "enjoy some fast twisties with friends" ride?

Fairly brisk is 4/10ths to some and 11/10ths to others
Well, sure. That's why I didn't put a number on it; I have no idea what the level is of the person asking.
The pace is fairly brisk, i.e. we're not toodling around strictly obeying the speed limits (except when we're stuck behind cars that are toodling around strictly obeying the speed limits). That does happen for stretches, as he is fairly conservative about trying to pass a line of cars with a whole group of bikes -- depending some on how many bikes we've got in the group. But we're also not hooning around being completely anti-social and endangering the passersby.
So, to try to answer the question asked, it is neither a "enjoy the scenery" ride, nor a "enjoy some fast twisties with friends" ride; it's in between those. We're not treating public roads like a racetrack, but we're not just out leaf-peeping either.

Thank you for the clarification, that is exactly the info I was looking for. I was asking because I've never really been one to try to enjoy the scenery while riding...I tend to focus all my attention on traffic/other riders in the group/etc.

Undecided which bike to take... The Explorer for comfort and speed or the Speed Triple for speed and not as comfort.
So I'm in...
Three years aga...!

If you go by St Gaudens , it is free this Sunday and you get a concert thrown in also.
This weekend, there will be a concert from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, and admission (normally $7) will be waived to celebrate the National Parks Service Centennial.

I'm in. Going to be a nice day to ride, and I haven't been to Seacoast yet...I heard they have a nice selection of gear.
Edit: Just noticed they were closed on Sundays, dammit!![]()
