2 time World Superbike Champion Doug Polen will be at Seacoast Sport Cycles this Thursday night (September 2nd) from 6-8pm! There will be a meet and greet as well as an interview with Doug. Cocktails and hor dourves will be served. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity to be up close to a racing legend!
When has a minor detail such as that prevented me from doing something stupid?
Rare?![]()
Be sure to punch him in the face for me....

Rare for some, not exactly rare for others.
Mr. Polen has attended several Boston Moto trackdays with his 1-on-1 school.

...sure glad we got THAT sorted out....cheesh!
I will be there! And, I will be with Doug at Monticello over the weekend. So, his meeting me is not so rare either.

No, he didn't. Him and his "student" tried to. Then his student ended up in the fucking grass. I'm not about to let some $18k bike with a $5 rider ruin my day.
I'm not interested in attending a trackday where I have to yield to him anymore. He seems to be great at keeping his students in formation and out of the way of other customers at Loudon, but Monti was a different story. Last I checked, I'm a paying customer, not him.

Wow. Ill make sure the guys at the Polen School are aware of this. I know Doug and I know that none of this is intentional. FWIW is was held up a little at Monticello by Doug and a Student and the students line was 'interesting' but I didn't get the bad vibe the mike and clayton did.
You are right. If I was faster in the back straight at Monti on my crappy EX500, then that 1098 wouldn't of passed me on the brakes at tip in at the end of the straight. Except I didn't run out of tarmac and run into the grass like he did trying to make a bonehead move. Seriously, i'm on an EX500. I know it's dog-shit slow, and I'm not that fast on it either. A somewhat non-skilled rider should be able to eat me up on any straight, corner or on the brakes on anything faster than a mid-90's 600. But these guys are getting taught by a world champ on that very track, have 150hp+ 400lb machines and they can't make a clean friggin pass, nevermind at least be faster than someone like me? Time to rethink their priorities.
I had passed BOTH of those guys on the chicane, which is the last turn before the long straight. They didn't try to pass on the straight. Then waited till the end, then tried to late brake and stuff me. They did it to Mike too, who was on a street-tire shod sport touring bike that he had never ridden two days earlier.
If you are spending $400 plus the cost of the trackday to learn to be either smooth or fast, and can't be either while also nearly ending the day of another trackday rider, then you really need to give up riding and take up fucking golf or something.
I don't mind that Polen is teaching, but I'm not getting a discount or anything from him on the trackday I paid full price for my cooperation in avoiding him and his sometimes 4 bike long rolling roadblock.

But like I said before, he is not an issue at Loudon. Never had an issue there, and ridden something like 3 days with him there this year alone.

Guessing you won't be coming to Seacoast to meet Doug...
...don't think anyone is holding a gun to anyones head either.
Your complaints about how he runs his school at track days are better aired with the principals at STT...assuming you're OK with his operation at the BOMO days at NHMS. I will be at STT this weekend and will mention this to Dave P.
...so, lets stop pissing on the Seacoast Parade....!!!
