Where can I get more details on this? The NETRA site only states the date and location.

    I might do this again.

I did the 3-state one last year but bailed after lunch as the rain was coming in.

What bike you running? (I took Renee's KLX250 and it was much better than my KLR650... once we actually got off the pavement)

I raced it last year so did the whole thing and beat the rain back by 5 minutes. I did not do the heros as I was alone.

I have a DRZ 400 with 70 street 30 dirt tires, I should be fine but going off road by yourself is never a good idea.
I am not a crazy if its raining I ain't playing either.

A modern 225 or 250 should be fine everywhere no reason to go over 50 anywhere.

If your a newbee and can sit on the bike and paddle with your boots then you can go anywhere. A route holder and nominal safety equipment would help though.

I had the idea to know who's probably going and maybe put a good quantity of blue painters masking tape on the helmets so we can find each other.

I think I did all the heros before lunch... the main route was kind of boring on the KLX... would have been OK on the KLR though.

We'll see how this goes as we get closer. Still haven't been offroad this year... might do a little this week though.

This is definitely new rider friendly if you stay off the hero sections. It's basically small paved and dirt roads.

yeah, you could do the main route.

I would think a V-strom could do it no problem... heck I think I even saw a sportbike out there last time.

    Yep.

You could also carry a 32oz fuel can if you're worried. Or stay near a KLR and bring a hose.

I think if you statrted out full and gas up at every opportunity you would be fine. You might bring the hose or bungi a 1 gallon tank somewhere.

Other than that its dirt roads etc. but it will take you places you probably would never see on your own.

route holder or will have to tag along though
