I would not recommend doing a group ride if you are extremely new to riding. IMO what these guys consider Easy ridding way be over your head and you may push your self to try and keep up and bad things happen when people do that. I would recommend getting some experience under your belt before you start doing group rides. But again that is just my opinion.
I consider myself new to riding because i've started riding about two months ago.... I've been riding on my own with with a few others ever since.... I guess i will always consider myself as a newbie... but not lame enough to NOT participate in a ride with others.
i would also like to think that a group ride is a fun and peaceful activity to take advantage of the weather and outdoors on your bike... not an opportunity to rage with speed in your blood through the streets...
plus i take the Subject line "Easy Pace NH/VT ride" to be a good indication of what this group ride is all about. the reason why I got a bike.
dont take offence to it Dangger. I was in the same spot last year when I got my bike. I was just offering some advice.Originally posted by dangger

advice taken... sorry.. i was just a little disspointed in hearing what you had to say.. i understand it was all in safety and concern... i'm confident in my riding and safety... and what better way to get experience then get out there and enjoy myself? if you watch "The Apprentice" show.... "I am cautiously optimistic"
I'm really looking forward to a group ride with you guys... I have been having such a hard time looking for local bike forum... This forum suits me well...
Not to be a dick but isn't the topic of this ride easy and slow pace...... Should be perfect for beginers. Must be a misleading topic.
2001 RC51!!!
2007 Husky SMR 510 - no longer... blown tranny
The topic is not misleading. It will be an EASY pace. We will have a group meeting and chat a bit ta get a feel for everyones experience and riding ability. If I feel as though the group should be split up we will do so. The premise of this ride is exactly what was stated. Feel free ta join the ride. This ride is NOT a rip in the twisties. We will keep speeds consistant with abilities.
Join us. You will have a fun day riding. All day riding.

Too bad I don't have a replacement bike yet. This sounds like a fun ride. I can vouch for Wayne. He is a very sane rider who takes everyones skills into consideration. Have a good time guys
when Fireball says "easy pace" it is easy. trust me.
i'd make it if im not still break-in the damn bike.
"fuckit!"
Come on Kham, go. It sounds like a perfect ride to break the bike in. I want to see that new ride!!!

The only reason I brought it up was because last year I was out riding and I bumped into a group of riders when I stopped for water. They invited me to join them and said they where taking it EZ, 50-55mph. What they didn't tell me was they where doing that on switch backs and hair pins. I only had about 2k miles of riding experience and there was no way I could keep up with them. I thought I was going to die... LOL
