Confirmed! I don't give a hoot what date, in like Flynn.
A house with A/C and or screens in Windows!!!! Wouldn't mind a different location either.
I'll ask my friend about her Aunt's houses. I believe the houses are close to the Murphy area.
Some interest displayed from here as well. Dates not really important, can probably do just about any time.
How does this trip work?
Do y'all just do a group ride there, spend time, and ride back, or what?
I'm interested, if I'm in a feasible part of the country at the time.

I only went once. But we all trailered/trucked down.
I hear Randy makes a ride of it. Me, I'm in with the guys trailering.
Rent the place for peanuts for the week. Trailer down on the weekend. Non-stop, swapping through turns at the wheel. Crash, rest up. Day rides M-F. Anywhere you want to. Pack up and return flight that weekend. Back to cold, harsh reality the next Monday.
We trailer down. I find that it's the best way to get the most enjoyable riding out of the week.
People have ridden down in the past, or ridden home. It's not for me. I like my tires sticky and fresh when I arrive as you tend to go through a set during the week if you push.
Recently we've been leaving Friday night after work, drive straight through in a caravan (ish) and arrive in Robbinsville Saturday around noon/1. Get stocked up at the Ingles, head to the house, crash out and relax the rest of the day. Take an easy ride into town to shake off the cobwebs for dinner at El Pacifico. Back to the house for a good night of sleep.
Rest of the week is sleep/ride/eat/relax/swim/eat/ride/drink/sleep. You can do whatever the hell you want. I tend to lead a bunch of rides throughout the week for those interested. I just ask, as the person who puts together the trip, to let someone know where you are going and when approx we should expect you to return. If you don't show up, and make no communication otherwise, we stop riding, pack up the trucks, and go looking for you. It's happened in the past. Not often, and thankfully nothing bad ever happened as far as harm to someone, but it has happened for reasons like getting lost or having a mechanical.
If you have "a get off" (ah WHUT?), you have people to help. But we aren't going to help you sulk (provided you are ok). The ball busting will begin as soon as we are confident you haven't been harmed badly. Then we'll "fix" your bike with duct tape and make you ride like that for the rest of the week.
There tends to be a load of ball busting and general idiocy. We like to ride fast when appropriate, but safe and smart. Riders of all ability levels have joined us and had a good time. No pressure to ride fast or slow. Pressure is only to ride at YOUR pace and not get over your head. Much easier to wait at the next turn for 30 seconds than to spend half a day fixing a bike that's gone down. We're cautious of cops, but do make passes
Meals can be with the group in the house, at a restaurant, or go off and do your own thing. For a vacation, it's whatever you want to make it.
Swimming at Cheoah Point being a total creeper to the locals is a requirement though.

Cool. OK, I'm in, tentatively.
If I'm back in NH at the time, I'll probably ride down on the weekend; it's only 1000 miles or so -- easy 2 days.
If I'm still here in St. Louis, I'd just ride down myself and meet y'all there.
If I'm somewhere else, then something else.

I've been down 7 or 8 times
first time taking 3 days to get there, secondary roads to Front Royal , then Skyline Drive & BRP the rest of the way, camped at CROT for 3-4 days then 4 days getting back thru TN, VA, KY, WV, OH & PA on secondary roads (6200 miles in 10 days)
second year, I did an IBA SS1000 & BB1500 to Ft Pierce, FL then I rode back to meet the group at the TreeTop house ( this was first time a group from NESR went down)
the next year, I loaded onto a truck with another rider (his truck) for the trip down and back
year after that, I rode down along with another rider, took about 50 miles of Skyline drive but got back on highway cause the ridgline was socked in with shit weather but clear sailing on 81
another time I trucked down with my son, all the other times I rode straight thru, takes me 21-22 hours (about 1200 miles) all highway to Knoxville, with last 30 miles being the dragon and Joyce Kilmer road
last time I went, I had one of the other riders bring my spare wheels in their truck so I could get more dirty riding in
I have only been there on my SV650, not on my V-strom yet

my gf graduates college may 20th, so please not that weekend, but im in for sure otherwise. may also not hurt to bring down liquor or beer for the week in a cooler if you have space in the truck. then you can just grab ice locally. not that the ride to tellico is boring or anything, but itll save trying to pack large quantities of booze into a backpack or someones luggage, hahaha.
nine times out of ten its an electric razor, but...every once in a while...its a dildo. of course its company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo, we have to use the indefinite article "a" dildo ...and not..."your"...dildo...
Personally, I enjoy the "relaxed, not ripping at all, no really, let's just take it easy" ride over to Tellico and back.
Plus, I have cavernous Caribou Case luggage on the Wee now. I could fit two 30's easily with room to spare.

If one did want to go but did not have a trailer and really didn't want to drive down to NC on a super sport are there people going down with extra room on their trailer?
If I don't find a person willing to take me to support the trip and haul myself& gear, I'm either risking driving my Truck down, or possibly renting a truck.
At this time I do not have a trailer. Loading everything for 2 people/ 2 bikes would be tight, but possible without anything in tow.
Where are you located?
I am slightly South of Worcester.

Besides Street Riding, Here is a change of pace for anyone bringing a Dirty Toy.
This place is Close for the Dirty Toys! But doesn't really give information about use of Dirt Bikes?
