Finally, what I've been waiting for all winter, a snowstorm to ride in and get some video.
First, I rolled my bike out to the road, then got my gear on, then thumb the starter, click, er uh dead, I just rode a couple days ago, not unexpected, battery is original from Dec 06, close to 70k miles and 3 charging system failures

i would like to try riding in the snnnn just not on the daytona. sorry man
OOOOff ride to the PO get your used stators
It is a known that old batteries some times shake off piles of crude then short themselves out when the crap gets tall enough to touch plates
The calculus of hate
It is not that I should win it is that you should lose
It is not that I succeed it is that you fail
It is not that I should live it is that you should die
post office was one of my destinations, stators have not arrived yet
really wish the battery didn't die, I missed out on some unique motorcycle video, road conditions were similar to my ride in one of last winters blizzards, as I ran my errands in my jeep, I saw more snowmobiles in the trails adjacent to the roads than vehicles travelling in the road

That's a full-on drag.
Did you consider jumping the bike. I confess I would have.
yes, I had to jump the bike to get it put away, easy to roll my bike down to the road, too steep to push back up
no way am I going for a ride with a dead battery when using virtually 100% of the charging capacity just run the bike and keep my warm. maybe 10 watts left over to charge the battery. I'd got to my destination, shut the bike off and the battery wouldn't be charged enuf to restart

Ah, yes. Heated gear. Never had that myself.
I always get where I'm going with enough charge to warm fire the thing and get home.
Or I wind up bump starting it.
Still a drag.
That sucks... I heard a curse in there![]()
If you ain't first......you're last!
I heard what I was thinking.
I felt your anguish.

Actually I wondered: RandyO, are you on the General Altimax, or one of those studded setups you've posted photos of? What are you running for a front in this weather?
Maybe I'm too new too.
I'm runnin a studded Karoo T in front, stock size 110/80-19 and the General Altimax Arctic (non studded) 205/50-17 in the back
studded bike tire in back works, but not as well, bike tire, even studded, spins up too easy with 1000cc, heavier car tire makes a big difference , also larger contact patch with treads/sipes designed for snow & ice
