dragon rally wales

I landed in Snowy Dublin Ireland this morning , ready to hit the ferry friday morning to Wales for the dragon rally . http://www.dragonrally.org.uk/frame.html
My 1968 Tiger 650 is ready to go but I might cheat and take me mates 05 tiger cos it has heated grips.
Tent is packed and sleeping bag ready
Weather forcast for friday is snow showers with a high of 33 degrees .
There's a whole bunch of us going over so we'll all be frozen together.

Got to Wales and arrive in betts-y-coed and it promptly started bucketing down snow.
A lot of work riding in the snow as we all decided to ride harleys over , beautiful country to visit friendly people and a bunch of daft riders showing up on all sorts of mad contraptions.
It was bitterly cold and we camped on the isle of angelsea race track where another bunch of lunatics did a track day , unbelievable watching sport bikes tottering around an ice cold track .

Back home
Great to do the rally but I froze my balls off in the process.
Unfortunately I got knocked off my mates bike on monday in Dublin by a blind fucker driving a double decker bus. I was wearing full gear so that saved me form really getting hurt and I got real lucky as I almost ended up under the front wheel of the bus. I'm feeling pretty bruised up right now but nothing a couple of days rest won't sort out.

It was kinda funny because some nice people lifted the bike off me and then had to restrain me from ripping the door off the bus to get at the driver.
Lets just say some choice words were used as I completely lost it and wanted to rip the fucking drivers head off.
I moved the bike to the side of the road and he had the good sense to take off.
The rally itself was a blast and there are some hard core riders over there riding anything and everything , they just don't give a shit. What was odd was the rally was on the isle of Angelsea and everywhere around it had snow except there till saturday night , daft weather A couple of old timers showed up on pushrod honda 50's from the early 60's and rode over 150 miles on them , completely mad.
Everything from new hyabusas to old vincents and even a stone mad hyabusa with leading link forks and a sidecar, theres a couple of pics of it below and a beautiful triton which is a pre unit triumph in a norton frame sitting in the front window of a really nice cafe , very pretty rig and one I'd give my eye for
Saturday night was really cold so pretty much everyone got shitfaced which was fun to watch.
The ride back to the ferry sunday was a tough one as it was snowing and blowing a gale and then freezing rain , Really glad I did it but not in a hurry to do it again as I'm sick off the cold weather.
I'm planning on alaska again in 2010 as I can't get it outta my head.
This time I'm going to ride down to key west and go to prudhoe bay then back down to san diego and home to the cape , sorta a four corners type of thing or my version of it anyways
One of the last things I did was take my old 650 triumph out for a spin , lovely little bike that and a joy to ride , shit brakes but light as a feather and a blast down small country lanes
