Fellow Triumph riders, it is getting close to the point where I will have to make changes in this event. Right now, August 9th, I have very few registrations. I have had a sizable number of people post messages publicly that they would attend, but I need COMMITMENT.
This event is like no other, if it stays as planned. Triumph riders will get lots of track time, with experienced instructors, and in the company of other Triumph riders. The wealth of information, including tips on resources, bike-related issues, and riding instruction at your pace is huge. Plus, having a T-shirt, from the event, and possibly winning some Triumph-related bits to be raffled, and professional photos of yourself all make it so worthwhile.
I am stressing HARD the skills development aspect of this Track Day. You will not drop your bike unless you are a rider that’s riding too hard on the street and think you can take it up 3 notches just by being on a racetrack. That’s a fear I cannot dispel enough! Cost is an issue, I know, but I am not doing this to make money. I’m doing it to help my fellow Triumph riders know their bikes better, and improve their skills (therefore, safety.) Come on! If you use PayPal to make the payment and you can even put it on a credit card!
You would be hard-pressed to spend a better $200 on your bike. No exhaust, tires, brakes, or frame sliders will do more for your bike than training YOU to be smoother and more confident. Doubt it? I see smooth riders on EX500’s go right around R1’s in every corner. Those are better street riders too, because they know the limits of their bikes, and themselves. You would learn those limits too, in a safe venue.
Down to brass tacks: This is August 9th. Just 10 days to get your $200 payment made, then it becomes, for one week, a “European Motorcycle Track Day”, as I have no fewer than 6 Aprilia, BMW, and Ducati riders holding their money out to me. On August 26th, if I don’t have minimum 35 riders, the day is reverted back to SamNet Racing/SRNE’s Tony Iannarelli, and it’s a “run what you brung” day. Gone will be the T-shirts, raffle items, and camaraderie of being with over 35 other Triumph riders.
Go to: Triumph Track Day.com and find the payment info. Please do it now, and “save the day”!
