Laconia Bike Week 2026

Once again the oldest motorcycle race in America is upon us.

I’ll be up for the week to enjoy all the events,racing and free riding I can handle .

Let’s hope for clear skies and for some of the NESR members to show up and make some noise .

I’ll be camping at the Steele Hill Resort from Monday to Monday.

Let’s make some plans , do some riding and see some racing .

Fuggin' AYE, things changed! LOL! We were in PA until Tuesday, the camper is still covered and in the way, haven't even had time to clean up our site at Rocky Road. As it's looking now I'm stuck at work the rest of the week and catching any racing this weekend is even in question. There's just SO much going on!

I figured we'd be basically in & out of the camper all this month while the house sold, but things didn't come together quickly enough on my end. Looks like we're a week or two behind.

I didn't get to do shit last week. Got home from PA late Tuesday, home reno's, truck dying, real estate agent, real estate agent again, kids visiting, blah-blah-blah. TOTALLY bummed that I missed it ALL and it may be a couple years before I'll have a chance to take it in again. Fuck, I didn't even make it to camp last week!

Totally not motorycycling as I did the Story Land thing with the grandkids Friday. Saw lots of bikes in the Jackson/Glen area and on the Kanc. Guessing some planned for the rain and some didn't as we came out of the rainy Bear Notch Rd to the Kanc and into the sun of Lincoln saturday morning. Some had rain gear, some had t shirts on.

I had an awesome bike week. We FINALLY had perfect weather for the Tower Hillclimb. I rode an H2 Kawi 750 triple 2 stroke. I had never ridden it before and the practice launches I tried in the parking lot at Loudon didn't go well! I had no choice but to PIN IT and work the clutch as it simply wouldn't run clean any other way.

First launch The bike went sideways off the line! I was instantly in the rev limiter. I couldn't hear it so I wasted a lot of time before shifting to 2nd.

Second launch was about as good as I was going to get and I rocketed up the hill for a 10.5

Third launch I got over confident and shifted the wrong way (I reverted to GP) and hit neutral twice.

The bike is raw and fast and incredibly loud with the tailpipes removed. I can't race this year, so this was the highlight of my season so far.
