Dirt roads and pavement designed for large dual sports klr650, dr650 vstrom 650/1K , bmw gs, etc . , you could do it on a motard but it will be a long day for a small hard seat .
I don;t know the actual mix but its aprox 50/50 dirt road and pavement there are no hero sections.
the loop is roughly 175 miles from the meet spot and back , give or take, heading out to western mass roughly as far west as ashfield before looping back so there are bail out opportunities along the way
we will stop for lunch in ashfield .
I will be leaving the shell / dunkin / honey farms at the jct of rt2 and 202 in orange .
9 am sharp .
have a full tank of gas . I would plan to bring a small snack and a bottle of water or something , as we will be stopping along the route but it will most likely be a road side stop and not at a store .

there is a starting point posted quite clearly, read the post again .
We ended up with 220 miles for the day and more than 1/2 of that is dirt road, I had no idea there was that much dirt road around me . I found it all thanks to the garmin mapsource.
Those highway pegs I put on the KLRs are awesome for stretching out on, especially since my boney ass isn;t doing me any favors on the long days in the saddle . Its nice to get a different leg position .
At one point the 4 of us were playing cat and mouse with a deerfield cop , we came up behind him on a dirt road , we turned off to another one and he ended up coming straight across in front of us at the next intersection , young guy, just smiled as he went by , then pulled over for us to let us go on by .
Lunch at the lake house was good as usual , although the service was slow as the place was packed .
we got home about an hour ago and just finished dinner , mark, needless to say we aren't going to ,make the fire tonight .
we will be away the next few weekends so it may be awHile before we do it again. Its a good leef peeping route for sure .
