Just got a call from Baller, and unfortunately he crashed on is way up to Moto Market w/ the RI crew.He says he's alright, but he might go to the hospital to get checked out anyway. Seems he hit a patch of sand on a turn. Says all his plastics are cracked and needless to say, he won't make it tomorrow for RI meet. Hope everything is OK, and he gets back out there soon.
Guys, though the weather is warming up, there is still a lot of sand on certain roads. Ride safe.

If you walk away its good. If you can ride away its the balls. Hope things turn out OK for him.
Hope he has a quick recovery.
+1 on the poor road conditions. I know myself along with everyone else here has the
itch to ride whenever possible but the roads still suck and are not as forgiving as they
are during the Summer months.
As of right now, tomorrow's meet is still on. Best weather seems to be around noon time
yeah baller just go to the ER, doent seem like you broke anything, but you never know, hope you feel better, you'll fix the bike in know time.
This happened to me last year right in front of the Trader Joes in Acton on the way to Motomart. I totalled my new then FZ6. Walked away. Got a new FZ6. Glad he is ok.
Keep your spirits up and glad knowone got hurt. Walking and riding away from an accident is always a plus![]()

Just got out of the ER. Xray is negative, so I am okay. Just chest contusion. Thank goodness for all the gears.
There is more to the story. I was riding way above my experience level. The turn was pretty sharp, when I realized too late, I locked my brakes as I was getting into the lean, hit the sand and landed on my chest/stomach and left hand. My left hand and chest took the impact. I will be sore. I was a few feet away from hitting a tree, and that would have put me in the meat wagon.
There were many bad things on the roads, the sands everywhere, and the deep and wide potholes. Guys, please do not make a mistake like me trying to keep up with more experience rider, just cruise at a slower comfortable pace.
Now help me find some fairings for an 06-08 Ninja 650r (EX650) black diablo color.

Uhg... that friggin sucks, sorry to hear it bro...
On the plus side, not only do you know how it happened, but you're man enough to admit WHY it happened... which means you learned something.... and that alone is more than a lot of idiots can say of their crashes.
Best of luck w/ the recovery... both yours & the bike's.![]()

I had sliders on my 650R from R&G and they were well worth the investment. I never had the pleasure of testing them at speed like jackie, but they did save me money in a tipover or two.
Arg - sorry to hear about the crash, but very glad you arent mangled, and that you also are taking it as a learning experience![]()
damn, well glad to hear you're alright and the bike seems to be repairable.
+3047850q35 on still having shitty road conditions. and yes that's a "q"
ride careful out there.
hurray, strikethrough!

Tough to admit I know but having an idea what you might have been doing wrong is a blessing. Lesson learned by all .Glad you came through all right .
Baller, glad to hear your ok. Once we got to the gas station afterwards you did look like you were a shaken up and starting to get sore. Next time we go out we'll take it a bit slower.
Even with all the knuckleheads on NESR. You can still get loads of info from more experienced riders, if you ask for it. Good luck with the bike and healing fast.
See ya on the roads sometime soon.
Shit happens! I snapped a collar bone last year and that sucked balls, glad you were able to walk away w/out any serious injuries. How bad are the fairings? Can they be repaired?
Thanks for all the comments. Unfortunately the shock wore off and I started to really feel the pain in chest and hand. I am going to take it real easy at work this coming week.
I just ordered Woodcraft frame sliders and left side tail fairing for my bike for now from blueridgeperformance. That is a really good deal for OEM parts painted the right color too. Great place to buy for Kawasaki EX650 riders like me.
I won't have dough to get both upper fairings yet til later this summer. I may see how the bike looks naked if possible.
For now, Sexay Ridur is out of commission. No videos, but I will post whatever limited video at the Shell gas station meetup point later.

Baller just so you know the woodcraft ones will require you to cut the fairings, the kawi and r&g ones dont

If I may recomend a worth the money upgrade, rather than spending the money on frame sliders in case you go down , the better invesment would be to spend the money on and ERC class ( experienced riders class) its offered by the msf and is a follow up to the beginner riders course, difference is that this is a single day event with you on your own bike.
Many years ago , I was a new rider and crashed on a group ride , riding over my head. I totaled the bike after I slid it into a car, I was 3 feet over the ctr line in a right hander, I hit an on coming car in the front quarter panel, luckily I walked away with only bruises.
when the insurance check came and I got a new bike, one of the first things I did was take an erc class. It taught me lane position , corner speed and a few other things. My wife, a passenger at the time noticed a night and day difference in my riding after the class. It was well worth the investment..
Bottom line is rather than spending the cash to protect the plastics, spend the money to be a better educated rider to avoid the crash, after all we aren't talking about a race bike here, we are talking about street riding , frame slders belong on the track when you are supposed to push the limits.
my $.02 for what its worth.
