I would say that on most of the rides I've been on, people have been great about conduct.
If someone has done a wheelie, it's been like Alex (punjistick) pointed out, away from others and not in an area that draws attention.

i think he just grabbed to much brake thats all.i figured every one seen that?
john, I get stuck behind you all the time. most of the time all I see is you a$$.
come on carlton you know you like looking at it:poke:
haha. No.
but sure you are getting alot of camera time.
hope your getting the good check:naughty
i have never come close to this danger doing baby wheelies off the line. that's not a real stunt. doing standup on highway is a real stunt and i would keep myself at a safe distance to watch. now if you're newbie then that's different. it would be like Cheese post "trying to increase your corner speed for first time" in a group ride.
big deal.
I always use good discretion.. I think we need to clear up that a 2 or 3 o'clock power wheelie carried for 10 or 15 feet after turning on to some back or desolate road, is not stunting.. I'm not out to impress anyone but myself, if people on the side of the road are giving me the pull it up sign, there not going to get it, because if there are people on the side of the road or in a car, then It's not the right place, IMHO.. But I would always respect someones wishes on a ride whether it was a ride I was leading or not, It is not my ride or your ride when we are out there together, it is our ride.. If Dave asked me to go on a ride, and said "hey btw, I'd appreciate you not doing any wheelies, then I would respect his wishes but as I all ready know Dave doesn't not like them on rides he is on so He would not have to even ask.. And when I did mine the other day it was after we had broken off there were only 2 or 3 others with me and I was in front and plenty of room in the back.. Anyways thats my .02 maybe it's not even worth that, The group we had was much too big for anything.. Still great riding with everyone..
I knew that question would open a can of worms. ha. This will be the longest thread in NESR history. What have I done.........:outtie:
No I don't think you did, your better off to ask and get a feel for what people expect you to do/not do , then to just go do it and find out there are some unhappy people.. It's being respectful..Just if you crash someone there going to be pist right fully so, just like if I did something stupid and brough someone down with me, I would expect them to be very, very pissed off as I would be..
hey, my "wheelies" are 1-2 feet at most. I did some monster 2 footers the other day on that ride. If it makes people uncomfortable, I will never do it again. We ride with a guy here in RI that will ride past you in a wheelie while you are in staggered formation in town. Now that is when it is crazy. *cough*bill*cough*
a ride without some wheelies is not complete. you need to make it clear before hand and i will not show up. but don't let me know after i showed up because you're insulting. y'all kind of know whos who and who can do what. what's the big deal? just take it out on hte new rider. :)
hey jamie i can pull 3 footers. haha...
Well my feeling on em is I really don't care who does them! Again, as long as your safe doing them....and yes I think you can do a wheelie and still be safe. Some people are good at them and some aren't. If you suck at them then don't do em near me. If you've been doing them for years, and you have total control and confidence in your abilities, then by all means, wheelie in and out and around me I don't care. If you crash my bike your paying for it. I don't like to dictate what others do and I'll never say I won't ride with you if you do them or take my ball and go home because someone did a wheelie in front of me....that, to me, is silly. I guess we all have different perspectives on it. I suppose most on here won't like my views on them but those diffrences in opinion is what makes the world go round. I will however never do wheelies or stoppies or sit on my windscreen and pull it up if others in the group aren't into it, I will always respect others wishes.
yeah, but did you dent your tank in yet? i think thats the real question :D
I don't mind if someone pulls a wheelie. Heck, I do it myself sometimes ( baby wheelies:) ) BUT, there's time and place. Somewhere in backwoods, where's no cars and people around. I don't need to draw attention. Also, I never did a wheelie (I think) while on a NESR group ride. I don't need to show off, but, on a right day, I like to do them once in a while. And if I do a wheelie, I make sure I'm keeping safe distance to other riders.
you're more likely get hit by a car than my wheelie. howbout we not talk about it?
It's true Jamie because his wheelies don't exist ...
There are rules on this board about doing stunts during group rides, I don't believe they are there to try and control someone's behavior but to advise them of what is expected while others are around, to me it is a matter of respect to follow them.
