Ok, I know it's a bit early but if there's enough interest I'll have a lot of planning to do.
I'm thinking maybe Memorial Day weekend or somewhere around there. I can easily negotiate discounted prices for a bunch of sites right next to each other at just about any campground in NH or southern Maine.
I pretty much have an idea of what campgrounds to stay away from as well (nasty ones, too strict ones, etc.) so depending on suggestions received here, I can take it from there and get it planned.
Also, where it's the beginning of the season, if anyone is going to need it, I can get my hands on supplies and camping gear at discounted prices (mostly RV stuff, but basic camping gear as well).
I did this full time last summer, from April til October and I am already starting to feel the urge to get out there again this season.
Good times, good times.![]()
+2 Interested (Reiobard and Mzdagrl)
Schweeeeet.
If theres enough interest I can borrow an RV from work for about 8 or so of us to sleep in. Only one catch, it'll most likely be a travel trailer and I'd need someone with a truck and hitch setup to pull it. Something tells me my Focus wont be able to do it.
Where it'd mostly likely be a used unit, it'll probably already have weight distribution and sway control on it so it'd be easy towing.
I go camping ALL the time. So much so that i already have every camping weekend marked on the calendar.... which can be found here - lrrsracing.com![]()

That's a very busy weekend for camping. They're usually handing out a lot of fines and making a lot of unneccesary arrests too.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
It doesn't hafta be that weekend, was just thinking of the long weekend that most of us will have.
Totally open to other suggestions on what weekend to do it.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, Memorial Day may not work for me anyway. My assistant is preggers and due that weekend.
How about the 19+20th??? I will need a spot for my big dumb RV. We gonna be bringing dirtbikes or kids or street bikes or all of the above??

+2 interested. Me and my wife. If she doesn't want to go I will go on my own.
As long as it is not a race weekend and I am not working that weekend.
Having a place for dirt biking near by would be cool.![]()

I could be up for this as well. Would probably bring a friend with his bike and someone on the back of mine. So 3 total

I've been looking at all the posts and *think* I have the perfect place to suit everyones needs.
Located in southeastern Maine, just over the New Hampshire border near Rochester. Probably about a 2 hour ride for those of you coming from the Boston area.
This is the campground that I stayed at all summer in my RV. Its decent, the owner is pretty cool (to me anyway) which lends itself to being able to get a way with a lot and get a pretty decent discount for this shindig.
Pluses: Relatively quiet for those that want to lay back and enjoy the wilderness thing. Really cheap. Really lenient (ie, no restrictions on how late you can have your campfire going, noise levels and what not). And this is probably the biggest plus for those who are interested: there are rather large sandpits just behind the campground that I know folks there used all summer for their quads and dirtbikes. From some sites, you can see the pits but they are accessible from any site in the park. RV friendly and tent friendly. Decent roads nearby for street bike rides. Rental trailers available for those without RV's who would rather not tent out all weekend.
Minuses: If you aren't completely self-contained (like in an RV) the facilities there (shower, shitters, etc.) arent in the greatest shape. They can be used in a pinch but its certainly not the Hilton. The amount of activities readily available aren't that great either. The campground tries to do things on the holiday weekends (dances and what not) but for the most part you're on your own for enterntainment and such. Personally, this part doesn't bother me as I am not so concerned about being able to amuse myself while there.
All in all, the sites are decent sized for those who are going to bring RV's and the sites are clean and ready to go. If we are all willing to get past the few negatives I listed above I think this place would work out well.
As for kids, I know mine will be there. She will be just about 11 when this goes down (very close to her birthday), she did the full time RV'ing thing with me all summer and there's no way she would want to miss out on any chance to go back for a weekend.
As for other folks and their kids, I would say it would be a matter of personal choice. Those with younger ones may want to weigh out the matter on their own as they would be the best judge on whether or not it was a good idea.
Let me know what you all think.
I'd be interested. Come up on the bike, ride all day, drink and hang out at night. Works for me.![]()
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
I'll come down with the enclosed trailer, dirtbike and streetbike in there.
When and how much?

We are still trying to figure out when. I have to do it either before Memorial Day or about 6 weeks after Memorial Day when my assistant comes back from her maternity leave, so long as its not a NASCAR race weekend in Dover Downs or Loudon.
Someone threw out the 19th and 20th... does that work for everyeone else? The campground opens the 15th of May and we will have our pick of sites no problem then.
As for cost, I cant be sure on that until I have a definite head count but the cool part is that no one needs to worry about ponying up the dough until the day we arrive to check in.
There should be no need for a deposit provided we go to the campground I posted about earlier.
Over by where it says "TV STATIONS", most of that open area (and then some) is where the sandpits are at. I was on site 136 this summer, which was very close to the pits but there are sites that are even closer.

Those who are thinking of bringing your kids: I *might* be able to get my 16 year old niece to come along and babysit here and there for us.
That works, might be a good follow up to my April trip to Deals.![]()
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
Can we get a confirmation on location and dates please?
Those of you who posted you are interested, please reply if this campground will work out for you and if the weekend of the 19-20th will be alright.
Of course those of you that havent posted yet but are interested are welcome to post up their suggestions.
Thanks
Edit: I have also decided that instead of borrowing a unit from work, I will be taking advantage of the rental RV at the campground. They are rather large and besides myself and the little one, could probably sleep 4 other people. If those of you who want to go, dont have an RV and/or dont want to sleep in a tent, you are welcome to bunk up with us. Just let me know so I can plan accordingly.
if you need firewood, I've got a pile I can donate
+1 for the camping! 19th and 20th of May are good for me. Campground is fine.
