Someone else can anwer this better than I but I will take a stab. Squid refers to one who lacks riding experience but tries to make up for this by performing wheelies, stoppies, etc. The squid uniform is made up of baseball hat, t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops. Typically their first bike is a liter bike, and usually try to chrome/polish everything. I know you know the type. They're all over the place.
On a funny side note: one of my buddies went to a Honda dealership a while back and saw two squids that had just purchased their new bikes. The bikes were pulled into a parking spot facing the building. The kids had to ask some sales people to turn their bikes around for them so that they could leave.
OH! BTW, those headphones you recommended worked AWESOME on the ride this weekend... not only was it 860 miles of riding, but it was 860 miles with good tunes I could hear above a 90 mph breeze and I didn't have to do finger twister to get my earbuds in! Just beware when HIGHWELL TO HELL starts blaring in my ears because somehow there is a direct connection to the opening of that song and my right wrist!Originally posted by Mystery Squid
They can also wear heaphones stashed up in their helmets when they ride, usually with shorts and t-shirt...![]()
Cheers,
Chris
But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
Been riding with earbuds for years now man... I love tunes while riding, but earbuds suck booty when trying to put em in under the helmet. Although, I must be a funny sight rollin down the road singing to myself!
Cheers,
Chris
