I'm planning a short ride early Saturday morning through central Vermont. I'll be leaving the Irving station in West Lebanon, NH at 8AM. Here's the route:
Central VT route
I hate Rt 4, but I need to get back home by noon. Post up if you're interested.

love to go but im a bit further north... bristol/middlebury area, (although problem #2 is that i'll be working). have fun, be safe!
What?
What time do you think you will get to Rochester? I'd be interested in meeting you there.
Tomorrow I was thinking of doing part of that loop. From home I go up over the hill, to 113 to 110 in Chelsea then drop down 110 to 14 in S Royalton. I was thinking about heading over Bethel mtn to check it out, haven't been over there yet this spring....then head over 73 but go north in Brandon and come back over 17 to check it out.
Depending on your pace, it would take 30-40 mins or so to get to SoRo and then another 30? to get to Rochester.
At the Junction of 110 and 14 in S Royalton there's a gas station on your right. Unfortunately I forget what flavor they sell, but it's the only one. I can be there by 8:30, I think that would put me there before you'd come through unless you really haul ass![]()

Last I knew, that was a Mobil/Exxon at that intersection.

After a series of wrong turns one time, I found myself heading north on 14 to Barre. Not being one to turn around I kept thinking there had to be another way back over to Chelsea, then I saw that road. I took it, but it was really rough. This was a few years ago, 4-5 at least. Did it get repaved? Last friday I was heading down 14 from Barre to 110 to up over the hill to home and passed it and remembering the first time I took it, I stayed on 14...but thought I should go check it out again.
Snake is right, it's a Mobil / Exxon. I remember now![]()
They repaved the majority of it two summers ago. I am always trying to find new back roads that have happy endings.
It's all good, the season is young and there will definitely be time to do some crazy 350+ mile days. We'll have to get over to NY. Bigblu mentioned back roads with happy endings...oh boy NY takes the cake there
So look for the blue and white bike at that gas station at that intersection. If I'm not there by 8:30 it won't be long before you hear a turbine sounding howl coming.
There's a Mobil in Rochester, Mr Bread should be there around 9ish me thinks. Bright red Duc 999 shouldn't be hard to miss![]()
Cool. I'll be on the big black paint shaker. See ya there.
I gotta bail, it's raining out
What a pisser, so much for sunny and 75 all weekend
well that was a fun little jaunt. Nice and easy riding.. Good fun. Its awesome to be back on the 999..
Nice meeting you Mark.
It poured up here. The neighbor was up earlier than I was and she told me it was machine gunning the tin roof. It sucked, I was some kinda not happy. When I woke up at 6:45 I could tell it poured, car went by and that's all I heard. Looked outside and about put a hole through the roof wondering where the rain came from. Driveway was still wet at 10am.
Sorry for the no show.
Twin day across the lake? Luckily for me I run two twins at the same time
Hope you heal up soon Snake.
I can happily report that Bethel Mt. Rd., Chelsea Rd., Rte 17, were all clean today. Chelsea Mt. Rd. has the usual sand at the very crest of the road, and a bit dusty on the east side, but that's it. 17 had lots of bike traffic-very few cars.
I heard that T**** Road is being patrolled by the NY staties, so I did not go over today. Sounds like mid week will be better. There is a thread on RideNY website about the trouble on T*** Road.

Hey.... I am in Hartland and pretty much always looking for riding buddies. Hit me up and we can work something out. Today maybe?
