Captains log star date 7/16/05

So the story begins late Friday night at "Unwined" in Manchester.

KillBill has to work Saturday so he is out! Bummer next time dude!

Ninjaswan has come down with a bug! Think it was the combo of beer and wine. A little later at his house, he gets sick. So he is out!

roso meets us Saturday morning 9ish.

We ride from Merrimack to Keene and guess what, roso pulls a vigina move.
He stayed up til 2am the previous night and is "too tired to ride"
Duh!

So we head out from Keene and head toward WRJ (White River Junction)
After riding 101 we jump on Rt12N, nice little strip of pavement that runs along the Conn river. Stopped for a drink and got a message from JeffL, he's at WRJ.

We're running behind so I know we are not going to make it by the time he leaves. (Sorry Bro, We'll meet sometime.)

A short time after we"cross over", onto Rt5 heading us towrd WRJ. We arrive around 12:30, small town, big train!
Had lunch at a tavern, hey assholes next time cook the chicken completely!!!!!!!!!

So after we hit Rt 4 W, We are headed for the imfamous Rt100.
(insert scary music here)

After a short ride we line ourselves up for it and off we go!

Good speeds, nice twists, low traffic, SWEEET!!!!!!!!!!
Crusing, and swooping over this unpresidented tar mac we head of onto Rt30. Just as twisty and fast but a few more cages.

Stop in Brattleboro for a little human fuel and the off to Rt 9. Ride Rt9 for a good stretch then hit back onto 101 back home.
Arriving shortly after 8 pm.

Moral of the story, great ride on some great roads, 300 miles with a great friend! Great weather sun, tiny bit of rain, not to hot not to cold.

Yeah, we got to WRJ about 11:40, and headed out from the Dunkin D's about 12:15 after eating lunch from the deli at the gas station, it was getting too uncomfortable to sit around any longer, plus I was on somewhat of a deadline.

Well, at least I know what you look like, after seeing you at MotoMarket and bikenight about a month ago, just didnt realize who you were.

You got lucky w/ no traffic. I was about beating my head off my triples because we hit nothing but traffic. From WRJ we slabbed south down to Bellows Falls, and crossed over into NH to run 12a/123/123a. 123 is great now that the frost heaves have gone down, and the freshly paved section still has some dirty spots, but doable. 123a has recently been "repaved", they basically skim coated the low spots in the road, so now its flat for the most part, but the surface looks kind of sketchy with the patchwork of old/new pavement the entire length of the road. It looks like they did some shoulder work too, and there were LOTS of rocks in ALOT of the corners. Had to really keep our eyes open.

100 would have been nice this morning, had we not been behind traffic/having to constantly pass people. Glad to see you two had a good day riding.

123A is repaved!!!!! I'm hitting that shit next Sat!

Who's up for a back route to VT and see how far we can go!

As long as I get my Radiator in time I will swap that bitch out and be riding next weekend.. ( I hope )

May be interested, not sure still if I'm doing the ride/bbq next weekend, or what. Although, I will have my new pants, and could try and get up to 17 again to de-virginize the pucks. Maybe lets try and get an earlier start than like 1230pm from Keene?

And 123a isnt repaved, but its got some new tar on it, which helped to smooth the road out quite a bit, but theres still tons of sand/rock in the middle of the lane in quite alot of the corners, some corners have shit all the way across them, so keep your eyeballs peeled.

Yeah we had a great time. don't think I'll be making the ride cook out next weekend I'm supposed to have the kids.

sorry we missed this ride. Vomiting Mountain Moon Wine after pounding beers all night wasnt my idea of a fun time.
