    my ride home tonite

had a seminar today at the Center of NH in Manchester, far enuf away that the ride was worth the time to put on cold weather gear so I rode, nobody told me ot was going to sleet, freezing rain and snow, left Manch about ¼ to 8 it was sleet and snow mixed, had a had time seeing where I was going cause my visor kept icing up, had to ride with it open part way, my glasses started icing, meanwhile I was keeping a steady 45mph pace passing quite a few cars on 101, on 125, the road was not in such good condition, mostly packed and churned up snow, where it was virgin, probably 4" deep or more, went by about 5 or 6 cars off the road in Barrington, appeared to be a chain reaction of brakelights about a half mile ahead of me , when I turned onto my gravel road, the plows had just come thru my driveway has 6 or 7 inches and its still coming down, had to shovel a path to walk my bike into my basement, home and bike put away by 9:30,

You know, you can get a snowmobile helmet with a heated shield. That should help with the icing problem. Seeing the way that you ride I think it would be a wise investment.

Randy's become quite the legend in our parts (and beyond). When I describe his riding 'habits' to some people, they immediately know exactly who I'm talking about and are AMAZED that I know him. When he showed up ON the lake last year on his VStrom - yes, ON THE LAKE, a few people out there where absolutely thrilled that they had a chance to meet 'that guy'...

Not to take anything away from Randy, it's awesome that he rides year round, but it's just a matter of perspective. I worked with Russian immigrants and knew women who rode motos to transport the family year round...in Siberia!

American mototrcyclists are among the wimpiest in the world.

I agree, riding in winter conditions is no big deal, its not that hard and makes you a much smoother all around rider
