I'm going to go for a ride up Vermont's beautiful route 100.
If you've never done 100 before, you're in for treat!
Some people regard 100 as the best road in VT. I know they're wrong, there are better roads. But 100 is pretty twisty, wide, and goes through really nice country side. There are at least a couple of "Gaps" we could do also. Smugglers Notch being the famous one.
Another great thing about 100 is The Ben & Jerry's Factory is on it! So we WILL be stopping and we WILL be having ice cream! They also have a tour available but they don't make ice cream on the weekends so you only get to see a moovie and get a free sample.
I just think it's cool to eat ice cream right at the factory!
This will be an average ride. Not super quick. Not dragging ass. Everyone is welcome (Just Kawi riders have to stay to the rear. Where they belong.)
We'll prob stop for lunch around Ludlow. Or we'll just play by ear.
100 is a tourist trap so food is never hard to find.
I'll meet where ever. Should be early though.
Please look at a map. This may very well be a long trip for you. Ben & Jerry's is in Waterbury, VT. Feel free to come along for a long as you can and turn back whenever you have to.
Post or PM me so I can find a central location to meet.

I may be up for this. Only issue is where to meet.
Last time I did Rt. 100 I went out to Bellows falls on 123 through southern NH, and then picked up 100 somewhere around there.
If you're in North Walpole you're north of most of Rt. 100 aren't you?
I have a place to stay (free) up in VT, I definitely can't get it for this weekend but if a few (maybe 6 tops) people wanted to ride in VT for the weekend and maybe head up towards Canada I can set it up.

Sure, plan this crap when I don't have a tire.

Ben, Rt 100 runs the entire St of VT. The best part (In my opinion) is north of me around Warren. I live right at the end of 123. I'd be more than happy to go south to pick you up. Keene, on rt12 or if you take 119 from MM Hinsdale.
Clayton, real easy to hook up with you. Just jump on I91. Exit 3 in Brattleboro. Mobil station right there. No problem!
Dan, bring her! I'll buy her a cone!!!
Jeff, ditto!!!

I'll wave from my cage If I se ya... I am going to VT for weekend, but I have to haul a window back and I can't quite fit a 4' x 4' picture window and ride 2 up on my SV at the same time
I recommend Rt 17 Appalachia gap, RT 125 Middlebury gap & Rt 73 Brandon gap over Smugglers... smugglers is nice twistie but always tons of cages, hikers & bicyclist on weekends so its not that enjoyable as a ride.

Smugglers is nice but too popular. Lots of tourists who seem to have trouble with roads that don't have a center line! Everytime I go through there some fucking Toyota tries to make me a hood ornament!
Thanks for the tips Randy!
We'll be sure to flip you the bird if you wave!!!

I may be able to go on this..hmmm???
But if not..as Randy O said..
You could make a great route out of the Midd Gap to Bristol to Brandon Gap to Warren/Waitsfield to App Gap (RT 100 would form one boundry) then head on up to B & J's...This would be like a giant S ...what a blast. Plenty of places to eat in Middlebury/Bristol/Warren.
FYI...this would be a very, very long day (from Boston).
Pearldog
That is all doable. We'll just have to see how much we can get to.
Like I said, if you're coming from Boston please look at a map. You don't have to do the whole ride. Turn around whenever you have to. It's fairly easy to get to the slab (I91) from anywhere on 100.

I'm going to be in Vermont this weekend, staying north of St Johnsbury. Might be able to meet up somewhere, gotta check a map, gotta check with the wife to be also.
KevinB
Little too far north for me. If I had the Ducati sold, I could manage it on my 750, but until then, I'm keeping the short rides going. Thanks anyways!

Hmm.. we'll see how it goes.
I may try and ride for part of the day and then turn back to come home.
Problem is I'm taking care of my roommates Dog.. I don't really want to leave the dog for much more than 6-8 hours, this ride sounds like it could end up being an all day thing.
