I may end up headin out with yall if your still going. I'll check back in the AM
Shoot the J!
We can just meet at my place. That way if the sitter's (my parents) running a little late you won't end up waiting at some bizarre locale...
Lemme know if that works. I'll post directions in the AM. Well, LATER in the AM...![]()
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Bwaaa haa haaa!!! Me missus went partying down Manch way last night and didn't make it home!
If, by some chance she isn't home on time, I'm still doing the ride. If that's the case, I'll still keep it an easy pace for the two-uppers...
Gotta head out to the garage to get the bike OUTTA track day guise...
We can meet here or at wunna the traffic circles (Epsom or Alton)...

There's a gas station NEXT to the McD's...Originally posted by Buddhaman

If that's the case, let's count on 11:00. I just wanna make sure the 'sitting corps' gets here and gives us enough time to skeedaddle. I don't want you guys sitting down there waiting for an hour for us...
Sound good?

Actually, howz about the Alton traffic circle? It's about 20 miles north of the Epsom one, and we'll be going through it anyway to get where we're going. There's a gas station there too, so we can all top off while we're there...
Same deal: Plan on like, 11:00 just to be safe...

There's a GREAT 'diner' in Latham. Makes for a great day run...
You've got almost 100,000 miles on that little SV. Are you telling us that you've never done any Saturday riding?

Latham, NY... is the food good there or something...
Saturday is kinda sucky day for riding, too many soccer moms and other Saturday errand runners... it's the bussiest day of the week.
probably not.
I would like to organize a long sunday ride for later on this summer to NY.. but a little further north, cross over at Crown Point Bridge.. that kinda tells you the route getting there, then a few county road twisties I know not far across the bridge.

The Alton traffic is 20 miles north of the Epsom traffic circle, on route 28. I'm about 14 or 15 miles north of the Epsom traffic circle, just off route 28...
To my house: Take ROUTE 28 NORTH from the Epsom traffic circle...
After about 13 miles or so, ROUTE 28 will narrow. Shortly after that, you'll see a sign on your RIGHT for LOCKE LAKE COLONY...
About a HALF MILE or so after that, take a RIGHT onto NORTH BARNSTEAD ROAD (there's a flashing yellow light there)...
Go up & over the hill. Take a RIGHT onto BELMONT DRIVE. It's the first dirt road on the RIGHT at the bottom of the hill...
We're the FIRST house on the road...

I ended up loggin about 200 miles today, up 107 then around the lake. Got lucky when it came to cops, multiple times. A few times me and stoinky were about to "accelerate" but cops came into view right before we did.
It was nice meetin ya'll today.
Shoot the J!
We made the fatal mistake of eating a HUGE lunch far too early on in the ride. There's almost nothing that ruins a ride like a big-ass lunch...
Got a late start too. Didn't log nearly as many miles as I had planned. None the less, we did get some scenic miles in. And it was great meeting ya'll...
Next time, I say everyone eats a big breffis so we don't hafta stop for lunch!![]()

Thanks for hosting the ride. No regrets for us on the big lunch; that was some good food, good company and hell, we've done the roads we missed several times in the past. It was great to meet all of you. Ride home was nice except for the presence of LEOs near half the good passing zones on 107.
No regrets at all on my part. Just seems big lunches are the kiss of death for rides, so to speak...Thanks for hosting the ride. No regrets for us on the big lunch; that was some good food...
Speaking of which: we hit that 'other' road on the way back that you & I were talking about. I was pleasantly surprised. Decent surface, fair amount of twisties (with a coupla REALLY nice 'switch-backs'), and VERY little traffic (as I had suspected). Definitely gonna work that one in a bit more......we've done the roads we missed several times in the past...
