any one going to race at NE Drag this weekend to race
I looked at the schedule and there is a test session and "Top Bike", but no Street Fighter class.
Do you run Top BIke, or are you planning on just running in the test session?
Unfortunately I'm probably only going to make it up Fri night for a few runs myself. Way too much to do this weekend to go on Sat.
what are the equipment/machine rules for race days?
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
depends on what "race" you enter.
Street Fighter events have no restrictions on speed (19.99 and faster is allowable). Pretty much the same rules apply to Street Fighter as they do street nights. A "street" bike, no slicks allowed, must have Snell M90/95 or newer helmet, leather jacket, boots, gloves. Although they seem to let people wear textiles more and more these days. And if you run under an 11.0, or over 120mph, you need full leathers and a kill tether.
Top Bike is 9.99 and quicker, and obviously you must have full leathers and tether. Since it is an IHRA track you must meet IHRA rules, which state you need an IHRA license to run under 10.0
well instead of me typing out all the various rules, you can just read them here..

went up saturday, made 2 runs and on the 2nd run i fried my clutch trying to slide it out at high rpms.....i gotta get me a drag bike, there were some real nice 8 second bikes up there on saturday.....
well i went up it sucked only got about 7 runs in but i did brake my last time of 11.3 i ran a 11.2 it was good but i still want more out of my 600
mikey2slow, what kind of bike you ride? 11.2 ain't too shaby at all for a 600. specially if its stock wheelbase/height.
im rideing a 2005 gsxr suzuki 600 i just got it this year and i have never rode b4 so i think that by next year i can get 11 flat im hopeing to that is its mostly stock just a slip on yoshi and power commander thats it
wow, mostly stock, that's pretty good.
post a time slip, curious to know what it looks like.
i will as soon as i can scan it
heh, you don't have to scan it.. just curious to know what the numbers are....
60' = 1.85
330 = xxx
1/8th = blah @blahmph
1000' =
1/4 = blah @ blah mph
heh

60' 2.073
330 5.008
1/8 7.381
mph 103.51
1000 9.448
1/4 11.217
mph 126.66
have to get your 60 foot time down in the 1.8 at least...cycle world got a 10.86 out of the 2005 gsxr600 so the bike will run pretty good at the dragstrip, just will take a lot of practice launching it...1.8 should get you pretty close to a 10.9 a 1.7x will definately get you into the 10's.....keep at itOriginally posted by mikey2slow

600's and 750's are a bitch to launch...they are prone to wheelying and take a lot of rpm's and slipping the clutch to get them to launch hard....you can strap down the front forks to help you launch it but i always liked to launch them stock, then play with them to get that extra tenth out of it.....
jack
Just by improving your 60' times you will get your 11 flat or even a high 10.99Originally posted by mikey2slow

You should be in the 1.65-1.85 range with a stock bike and no extended swinger![]()
A friend of mine has a few 1.65 60' times on a pretty much stock '98 R1
Your r/t has nothing to do with your 1/4 mile time so forget about that until you decide to enter street fighter or something![]()
Yamaha
also 126 is a great mph...so your bike is definatly capable of 10's...hell my old 1989 stock gsxr1100 (pipe/jtkit) ran a best of 10.3 at 132mph so your mph isnt too far off from that.....
yea i am tring to get that 60' to be better by next year i wanna be in 11 flat it will take some work but im going to try hard as far as a strap i want to but it will not be stock at that point
my 11.217 was ran with a 03 1000
he ran 137.93 with a 14/mile time of 10.3 and i was at 126.66
damn that bike makes some decent power.
good work, keep at it. she's got tens in her! as everyone has said... work that 60' down a bit and you'll be edging into the high 10s.
thanks im trying to get it better but this rain is killg me lol
