I rode the Kanc for the rest of the way, then did Rt 118 heading southwest. Elliot, you MUST get on the southern half of that road right now. From the top of the hill all the way to US4 is freshly-paved road, not even line-marked yet. Compared to the very cruddy pavement going up, its a amazing improvement. Definitely get on that road before the end of the season.

I meandered thru south-central NH, having dinner at Burger King in Milford. Heading down Rt 13 into Mass right around dusk, I saw a couple in a van pull over and stop and walk down the road. I saw what I THOUGHT was a orange cat dead on the side of the road, so I turned around to try to help them. Turns out, they actually hit a small deer, bounced off thier hood and ran into the woods. They were animal lovers, and wanted to see if they could find it and help it.

That gave me the willies and I stayed slow for the rest of the ride, staying behind long line of cars..

OK guys, be safe.. ride with you soon.
