Hey guys - I admittedly haven't posted since I first moved back to the area (last year) and hurt myself last summer, so riding was lessened. But this year I'm back in the saddle.
My question is this.. I was thinking of talking to some local establishments as to whether they'd be down for a bike night once a week. Maybe have a replay of the GP races going or some decent rock n roll music. Preferably a place with outdoor seating so we can oogle our buddies bikes as they sit out front. Aside from the Harley guys that park downtown in front of RiRa, I haven't seen much going on.
Just wanted to put some feelers out there.

I like Portsmouth. I need to hang out there more.
I'd show up for that, at least sometimes.
The bike spaces in Market Square aren't just Harleys; all kinds of bikes gather there.
It just looks like all Harleys 'cause they're bigger.

I was thinking of maybe talking to the owners of Street. Not downtown, but a huge parking lot and outdoor seating. Also thought about talking to Don at Great Bay - maybe he'd want to roll in sometimes to promote rides, giveaways, demos, etc.
The only thing about downtown is having to pay for parking and sometimes theres not enough space. Thoughts?

Downtown could be do-able, but would need some organization. You'd need to have a few people show up early and grab enough parking spaces with one bike each, then everyone can crowd in. Only one of the bikes in the space has to have a paid parking slip; the space is then paid for and everyone can park for no additional cost. Also, it's free after 1900h.

One word of 'caution' if you want to call it that. Make sure you frequent the local establishments. You don't want to take up Down town parking and 'scare' off business. Also keep the hoolicanism down, remember the old adage, don't shit in your own back yard.
In!

Thats why Im thinking Street360 might be cool. Theres also a coffee shop, tattoo shop, chinese restaurant and pizza place in that little strip mall. What more could you ask for? Portsmouth used to be edgier. We had the Elvis Room and the Friendly Toast didn't charge $13 for a burger. I know the we could bring some of that back or at least some of us punk rock retirees...
There's also the Makerspace, which I haven't been to but from what I hear is pretty sweet and its right around the corner from Street360.

Great Bay is my 2nd home... Really? yes really!
Hi guys. I work in downtown Portsmouth (for 7 years now). First, I'd be game for getting together. As you know, parking in Portsmouth in the summer has become a real pain in the ass, even for bikes. Depending on what people are looking for, I'd suggest a few different options. The easiest place to get to and park with food will be someplace like Margaritas off Rt 1. Lot's of parking and you avoid downtown. If you are looking for scenery there not much there. Street360 is similar in that it avoids the downtown area and has several food options including the not mentioned Mojos Bar and Grill which has great happy hour specials. There's also a dirt bike store nearby (Motorbike's Plus) in case someone needs something.
Downtown is fun for people watching and will be easy for me to walk over but again the biggest challenge will be the parking. If the goal is not to have everyone park together, you can find spots all over the place including the garage which has bike parking (fee).
PS - I've was going to post separately but will mention it here, WATCH OUT FOR POTHOLES this spring. There are all over the fucking place. I've seen people bottom out their cars every day. Spring riding will be fun.

Pierce island?
Great idea to get a costal bike night. No preference on night or location.
Hey guys - I haven't forgotten about this. Im going to talk to a few places in the next week or so.
