I was thinking instead of my annual Kanc Ride ( this would be my 14th consecutive) I might attempt a cold weather Saddlesore 1000

If you decide to do the SS1000 have a great trip! Took a look at your route and it surprised me that you would go North instead of South. Will be an Impressive feat when you finish it. Best of luck!

I've been contemplating a sub freezing SS1k for a couple years now, and plan was to head to Northeast, PA and back, but I'd have to wait for an exceptionally cold day/weekend, and even thought I'm prepared, it would also venture into the snowbelt possibly severely slowing my pace. This northern route would more likely have daytime highs below 32°

I thought your bike was all fucked up? New bike or did you get it fixed? Anyway, good luck with the ride.
How much time would you allow for the two border crossings?
based on the last time I crossed, 10 minutes to get into Canada and 1-2 minutes to return
a winter SS1k would be slower pace than in summer, keeping speed to 60, avg speed would likely around 50, 5 fuel stops @15 min ea time should be about 21:15 + whatever time at borders and meal stop. I would prolly leave home about 1:am, meal would prolly be breakfast in Woodstock, NB
