Shoulder is sore and still in shock that it happened at all. I came close to going out in the garage to see if the bike was there.
All things considered, I slept fairly well, despite the fact that I could only sleep on my back, because of the shoulder. (I'm usually a side sleeper.)
The rest of my body seems to be fine. But certain movements hurt the shoulder. I may request an MRI on it when I see my doctor this week.
Good morning, glad you got some rest.
Definately push your doctor to get the MRI.
Keep us updated .....

A moment of silence for the 1000RR![]()
Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Kurt (formerly 04ZRX on the forum) for helping me get the bike back from N. Scituate, RI.
He pinged me Saturday evening, asking how I was doing. And he did it for nothing, as well. I offered to pay for his gas and buy him
lunch for taking 3 hours out of his day, but he refused both.
Gotta love human kindness! You rock, Kurt!
Excellent! Yes human kindness does exist... Very good!
Well, I am fairly confident that the CBR will be a total loss. I did a tally, using Ron Ayers as a guide, and marking them down 10%.
The higher of the 2 vehicle guides, NADA has the 07 1000RR listed with a high retail of $8,055. I believe that replacement value needs to exceed 60% of the value in order to be consider a total loss.
Well, just with major parts, and not counting the frame, the value, which needs to be replaced is $4800, which is exactly 60% of $8000.
Looks like I need to go shopping.
That sucks dude, you want me to stop by naults tomorow and see if they have any left for you?

Well....if my experience in totaling a bike is any good, that estimate is way too low. For my ol' ninja ...am talking 20yrs old here, they came up with a ~$4500 estimate, including parts and labor....and that too was just for a tip-over in the parking lot.
So, yours being a brand new bike, if your calculation is $4800(jus for parts), their calculation for parts would be around $6000 and add labor charges to it....it might exceed $10,000.
Relax man, it will go smoothly and everything will be fine in a matter of days.
EDIT: you mentioned major parts....okk...but anyways...looking at the damage done to the bike, am guessing the estimate would be close to 10k including labor.

We'll see. I sent the insurance company all of the receipts for the aftermarket stuff and my gear. I'm still waiting on a copy of the police report. I have to go down there tomorrow and submit an affidavit from my account of the incident, since they never took a formal statement from me.
Not in any hurry to to get back on the horse right now. Replaying it in my mind still has me a little freaked out.
Well, I finally got my hands on the police report from Saturday's incident. Read it for yourself, but it sounds like she opened her mouth when she should have kept it shut. (about us "coming out of nowhere") I spoke to the officer when I picked it up and the girl is trying to contest the report, saying that that;s not what she meant to say.

In good time my friend, I have a feeling after the long winter you'll be itchin to get back on the road. Keep your head up all this legal BS will all come out in the wash eventually. By what the police report has stated the other driver is clearly at fault. The downside is that, the legal system can sometimes work in mysterious ways. It's going to be a long road. Just keep being diligent as you are.
I believe that Massachusetts is a no-fault accident state, correct me if I'm wrong? If so, the plus side is that your insurance company picks up medical bills, rehabilitation costs and lost wages up to the amount you purchased. The tradeoff is the injured person (you) cannot sue the other driver for pain and suffering, emotional distress and inconvenience. I really do wish you a full recovery, and hope for this to get far behind you. Best of Luck and Stay Strong.
