take a ton of pics man....there better be a great ride report after that trip!
That will be a great ride. Hope you have good weather. What route are you taking? I'm headed up from Daytona to Providence in July. I'm not sure if I'm going the coast RT 17 up and mountains back (Blue Ridge) or the other way around. I'm taking a few weeks for the trip. Hope your not just going up 95
We rode the snake last summer. Pretty cool.
That's gonna be a damn good time. Don't forget to read over some of the tips on ADVRider and IronButt. There's a lot of good advice there for long distance riding.
I'm taking my bike on that trip after a TD at Jennings. But it will be on my trailer![]()

Dave- I will most certainly savor the flavor.
Ship your bike down and meet me in Atlanta by Thurdsay.
If you seriously have the opportunity to go let me know.
Ryan- There will be a complete synopsis of this trip posted here.
enzo- The basic plan is to slab 75 to be in ATL on Day1. Spend the next day or two riding all over the Great Smoky Mountains region, ride a few sections of the BRP north and be in DC by Saturday. Do a mini-tour of DC and basically be home by Monday or even Tuesday.
schleppy- I'm well prepared for this trip already but I'll heed your ADVice anyways..............see what I did there?
Just shipped my gear, tools and some supplies out today, have oil and filter waiting for me in DC...about the only thing I really have to do is rig up some wires so I'll have heat for those chilly night rides and pray I don't have to use my plug/ patch kit.
Keep an eye on killboy when I'm gone...I guarantee I'll be the ONLY guy riding a blue FJR/ yellow mohawk with NH plate...![]()
BTW, anyone wanna drive me to Logan at 5am next Wednesday?
Anyone?

good luck man.
post up some pics and a ride report when you get back.
shiny side up!
Good luck and have fun!
Paul,
An odd situation...
...on the one hand, you really want to take it slow and savor every moment. A trip like this doesn't come around that often.
On the other hand, what fun is that....????!!!!
So take it quick slowly...or slow quickly. Whatever! ENFUCKINJOY!!!
(and a trip report upon completion will be expected...!)

I'm pickin' up what you're puttin' down, Dave.
I think with the amount of ground I'll be covering, no matter what speed I'm rolling at, every mile will be memorable.
The thing is, the slabs will suck...like 75 up to ATL for example...I might not savor those moments as much as say, Cherohala Skwy or even Tail of the Dragon.
I likely won't cherish "moments" per se, rather large portions of this trip. I will cherish each day for what it has offered to me and in that, the experiences I will carry with me until my day's end.
I was talking to a guy that lives near DC, Kevin (WRAITH1027 on FZ1OA), who's hooking me up with a spot for an oil change and a place to stay. He, like many here and elsewhere, also mentioned taking it easy so I could do the things I planned on for this trip. The thing is, this trip, if there were an actual "plan" and even so, if I miss one thing it's because I've gone off to appreciate another.
I highly doubt, once I return to NH, I'll have a feeling like I've "missed" something if anything.
If it's not the bike, it's the roads. If it's not the roads, it's the people along the way. If it's not the people, it's the places I get to see. If it's not the places, it's the journey itself. It'll all fill itself in in one way or another.
My karma is in good standing and no matter what happens, be it good or bad, this is going to be one hell of a trip. I'm so very fortunate to have this opportunity it's overwhelming. My eyes fill with tears of joy just thinking how lucky I am to be able to do this and how financially stupid it is. I don't really care about the latter quite honestly. I'm here now, today...that's what I'm living for.
what you just posted, is the reason i love motorcycles....every aspect of it....you're going to cover in one trip alone.
have fun and be safe bud
Will do my friend!Originally Posted by RyanNicholson
