Consisted of a 649.3 mile ride home on the Bmmer...
What a cool trip I had yesterday.
I finished my customer POC (Proof of Concept) on Thursday afternoon in Herndon, Va. I decided that I would get rested Thursday and head out Friday morning to come home.
First decision I made Friday morning was to use a little highway as possible, so with that I headed West out of Herndon, Va.
I was heading West through the Shenandoah valley area when I saw an exit that said "some rt. # North" (I don't recall the actual rt#, I think it may have been 17 or 17 or ???) so, I exited...
Thus began my plan. If the road said "North" and wasn't a major highway, I took it. (I did have a map with me just in case...)
My ride took me into Western Maryland and then into Central Pennsylvania. Once in Pa. I decided I needed to head "East" as well, if I ever wanted to make it back to NH.
Taking the backroads through Pa. was Beautiful. The weather was great, and the scenery was awesome. At this point, I think I was about 400 miles into my trip and still almost no slab! I continued to head Northeast, and lo and behold, I end up in the Pocono's region!!!
More gorgeous riding.
From there I headed into Upstate NY. Now, it's getting late, and my ass was starting to get sore....
At this point, I decided I was going to abandon my "back roads plan" and slab it home.
So, I headed East to the New York State thruway north. While on the Thruway, I had an interesting encounter with a NYS "statie". While on the thruway heading North, I was in the right lane @ approximately 80 - 82 mph. There's no cages around me anywhere, and I'm just cruising. This statie pulls up to in the left hand lane, and I look over at him. He gives the "slow down" signal. I slow down a bit, give him the "thumbs up", and he pulls away.... Needless to say, I was pretty impressed with this cop, as he could have been an asshole and pulled me over.
Anyway, I slabbed it up to the Mass Pike, Headed North on '91 and got home about midnight last night.
Almost 650 miles... That was a ride man.
Quite a workday, huh?
So, this leads me to the question.
What's the most any of you have done on a single day? (On a bike...)
That was the most I've ever done on a bike.
Now I need to gather up the energy to head to Seans party and meet some of you in person...

Eh, I think my longest day was something like 490 miles of twisties in VT.![]()
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
a little over 500 and loved every second of it
That sounds like an awesome ride. My grandmother used to have a cabin up in the poconos, and we went up every summer when I was a kid. Too bad it got sold when I was 13 or so.
Most I've done is 400 and change. Nothing crazy.
How long you had that BMW for? Love that bike.

I Love it. It's quite different than my V-max, and it's my first European bike.
I was torn between the K 1200R and the Aprilia Tuono.
phoenix to monterey.. dont know how far that is.. and i did a loop from phoenix to tuscon via old 666.. again not sure of the milage but 666 was 100 of the hardest twisties ive EVER done![]()

Most miles in a day on a bike....Bristol VA to Killeen TX. Well, it was more of a day, night, most of the next day...on a first generation Katana...man my ass was sore. I'm guessing about 1400-1500 miles.

Best so far on the 675 is about 440
I've done several Saddlesore 1k's on my SV, one Bunburner 1500
my first SS1k (that I documented for my Ironbutt Association membership) was from Stonemans house in Ctr Barnstead to Binghamton, NY then South to columbia, SC, 1075 miles in 19½ hours then on to Port ST. Lucie, FL, another 575 miles and 9 more hours of riding got me my BB1500 certificate
I normally ride straight thru every my on my trip to Deals Gap, it's about 1200 miles door to door from my house to the house we rent in NC and it takes me about 22-23 hours that trip includes finisdhing the frip by riding thru Deals Gap after I have already ridden 1175 miles
all on my SV650
my longest days of riding with no highway was either one 4th of july that I rode to St Georges Que and back or a september day that I rode to VT and traversed the state and took in all the notches, Brandon Gap, Middlebury Gap, Lincoln Gap, Appalachia Gap, Smugglers Notch and Hazens Notch then back home, both days were about 700 miles

like riding from Key West, Fl to Deadhorse, AK and back in 11days , that's 11,000 miles some of it on gravel road
I was invited on a 50cc a couple years ago, but did not take the invitation, a 50cc is coast to coast in 50 hours, the shortest route is Jacksonville FL to SanDiego, it would have had to ride to Jacksonville, then to the 50cc, then ride back home or or spend big bucks to transport my bike and fly

The most i've done in one day is 300 miles. We did some riding down in CT, NH, and MA. At the end of the ride we rode up Mt Wachusett which had a cool view at the top.
Hopefully I'll have a more comfortable bike next spring so I can do longer rides!
We used to regularly do +/- 700 a day on certain weekends. We'd ride out to NY state for lunch, then ride back...

I just realized the best part of this trip...
I'm doing my monthly expenses today, and I get to expense the mileage for this trip... $493 bucks...
So, not only was I enjoying the hell out of the day, my bike was making me a few extra bucks on the day...
