Hey everybody! I know it's a little ways away but lets starting marking the calendars. The 3rd annual Wounded Vet Run is coming up on April 27th (rain date of May 4th). It starts at Boston Harley in Everett and ends at Suffolk Downs. It IS streetbike friendly, there will be a crowd of them. I'd like to get a group together to ride up. My brother (a current Marine) and I are planning on riding up from the Rockland area. Anybody that is interested is more than welcome to join. Please pass on the word.

I go, make a donation, and go for a ride on my own.
The last time I went I did see two or three non-cruisers there.
If it's a "run" you can expect 99% of the bikes to be cruisers. They should properly be called "Parades, followed by a picnic."
I often swing by and donate to runs (a fair number start at Marine Park in South Boston) but don't choose to stick around - even when I had an HD. Write a check today and go for a ride!
I applaud the intent, and loathe the execution of these fundraisers. That's the way I handle them too, Garandman. I do one thing different though: I ask that they donate my meal to a homeless vet or child. I know they never do though I wish they would.
During the summer, there's one of those "runs" or "Ride For xyz" going past my house nearly every weekend. Whether or not they have the police escort, they block all the intersections in my small town and freeze traffic for 20 to 40 minutes while they all pass through.

Bump for a good cause. Anybody is welcome to come even if it's just for the ride up.
