Hey, you up for a kancamangus run on Tuesday Oct 4th? I have a couple days off and I'm curious to check out the kank. Might be useful to bring a map though unless someone knows good routes to/from and is able to go (or share).
Would probably want to leave late morning (11ish) from Concord, we could meet up at one of our many Dunkin Donuts (probably the one on Loudon Road for convenience). Lemme know!

Sounds like a plan...But I've never been up there before..So we need a guide or a map...Anyone wanna go???![]()

If this was a Wednesday I could go. Have to be in Toronto both Monday and Tuesday![]()
I could do Wednesday, but I think XV has to work? I could be wrong....Also, I like having a day to recover from long, taxing rides like this.

Ok, normally with a couple days notice I can make any day ride, as I have a flexible schedule, when I am not traveling. Although I would love to have my bike with me today, since here in LA it was 99 degrees today![]()
I'd have to do a swap to make Wed. work...And I"m guessing you are going to want a day off to recover..LOL Someone else must have Tuesday off....Who wants to guide the girls???

Where's Fazerchic to run our routes for us when we need her? I would like the extra day to recover before work Thursday...I have a long day that day, as the boss is at a conference, so I need to be on top of my game.

Looks like you, me and the maps again. Mayhaps I can borrow the GPS from Rob, too. Oooh, another girls' ride!! I know there have to be more people out there with Tuesdays off. I will do a little research on routes and we'll plan on Tuesday 11AM, Dunks.

do you think you'd hit the Kank? I have to work, but may be able to get out early. I know the area pretty well.

I was up at the Kang. about two weeks ago and there is one stretch for about a mile that is unpaved. They are repaving the roads there. It wasnt too bad then. If you start on the 93 side you end up on Rt 16 a short distance from N. Conway.
You know I'm always game!!Originally posted by mzdagrl

I've said it before and will say it again. Kanc = crap. I'd advise to plan a different route.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
is it because of the road condition? traffic? or is it just not that fun to ride?
I like this time of year, to take an easy ride and appreciate the scenery!!
I think he said in another thread that is was both road conditions as well as the road is just not very twisty

Ok...Then why does everyone ride it???
I don't know becuase I have never been on it...But alot of people have...
But if its as bad as you say it is then maybe we will have to find another route..

The Kanc is in great shape now for 90 % of the 32 mile stretch....
stay off of bear notch road, I even know of a road that I have NEVER seen any bikes on that I have been enjoying lately......
If this was a thrusday ride, I would be happy to lead, I live up this way and know many many routes to get yer fill on......
If that is where you want to ride, then I say go for it. You will enjoy the landscape and have a nice ride and be able to say 'been there done that'
I 'been there, done that' in July. Am I in a rush to go back...nope. Would I say, its awful don't go...nope.
In July, I had a mud (and I mean mud!) it for several miles. That shit is like cement...I think its still on my hugger!!![]()
