Just got back this afternoon from the second annual Bennington Triumph Bash. It was another huge success, with over 100 people attending. We should get some of the NESR crew to come next year, whether you have a Triumph or not. It was simply a great time with a great bunch of people.
On Saturday I led a ride through the Adirondacks and over T Rd. Most of you know that I normally don't like group rides, but this one was awesome. We had 18 bikes in my group, no one did anything stupid, everyone rode great, and we all had a blast. And yes, everyone loved T Rd -- here's a shot of me followed by this guy Alan from PA (good rider -- he stuck right behind me on T Rd):
We assembled on Saturday morning in the Hemmings Motor News parking lot -- awesome to see so many cool bikes. Then we sorted people out into groups based on which ride they wanted to do and headed out.
Had dinner in Bennington after the rides. Then I headed back to the campground and sat up till 3am shooting the shit around the campfire with the Connecticut Rockers and a few others. Up at 6:30, got my shit together, had a relaxing breakfast in Bennington, then took Rt 100 north with Tito and three other guys. They each peeled off and headed towards their respective homes, and I pulled into my driveway around 3pm.
Really fun event. Some of you guys should come next year.

I was ready to roll Friday night, but realized that with the Tuesday/Wednesday Americade trip this week and another trip planned for next weekend, it was best I skip this one. I'm glad you had a good turnout.
Glad you guys had another great turnout Mark! Tyler and I were working, but I will hopefully be around next summer and try to make it.

No, that's my Triumph waterproof jacket. It was very wet out on Friday when I headed down to Bennington, so I wore the full waterproof gear. I just don't wear that jacket much otherwise because it has no vents and doesn't breathe, which really sucks when it gets warm and sunny out.
I have four motorcycle jackets, FYI -- two leather, one mesh, and this waterproof one. And I'll probably be getting another later in the summer for my Labrador trip -- need one that's waterproof but that has good venting.
There. More than you ever wanted to know about Mark's jacket situation.

My group got to T Rd first and had smooth sailing (although we passed a lot of cops further south). Tito's group got there a short time after mine, and apparently while they were stopped taking a break at the end of T Rd a cop or two stopped by and talked to them.
But no tickets for anyone on either ride (amazingly... I kept my group's speed pretty moderate, but Tito... didn't). No incidents either. Went great.
