I don't think it's a bad idea for inexperienced riders to choose their riding days a little bit more carefully, as even I hate riding in the rain. Why?
1) Visibility: my shield fogs easier and in general collects a lot of moisture, making it difficult to see at times
2) Traction: painted lines, oil slicks, hydroplaning are all a lot more of a problem on the bike
3) Other people: people can't drive for shit when it is perfect out, I trust them a lot less once the weather turns bad.
I don't give a shit about getting wet, it's all that other stuff that sucks

Yeah, but Tommy, Adam, and Foster aren't inexperienced riders. I wasn't talking about the n00bs.
And it's not like I'm going to shun anyone who doesn't show up on a bike. I was just pointing out that it's not a big deal.

Current forecast says thunderstorms are supposed to move through this afternoon and finish up just in time for Bike Night. Fingers crossed!

my clutch lever being in two peices dictates my absence.
theres just something about a blue bike
Hourly forecast keeps changing. There's a line of thunderstorms moving through upstate NY that should be hitting the Burlington area right around 5pm, but it's looking like once again the line might split as it approaches Burlington and pass to the north and south without making too much of a mess here.
Currently sunny and partly cloudy. Go figure.

What night is Burlington BIKE NIGHT?!?!?!?!?!
TUESDAY...!!!!!!!!!!
The way the radar is now, Foster and I would be riding through a severe thunder storm ALL the way to Bike Night. So we're going to just drive in, I'm okay with rain but thunderstorms are a different story.
The area in pink is under "severe thunderstorm watch".

I just heard there was a short blast of hail near St. Albans area. I was gonna stop by to get some pizza with the girl, but... I'm not so sure now.
Well... It was still good to make it to Bike Night last night. I don't have the commute that most of you have, so I can typically make it "rain or shine" until the snow & ice starts ... at least.... or until I get a super-cool Tiger 800.

Have to share something I heard today. "Harley's are the most efficient way of turning gasoline into noise". I laughed all afternoon at that.![]()

Will anyone be attending Bike Night this fine evening?
I will be there and I am hoping that two bike night rookies will show up as well. One of them rides a Harley and doesn't wear gearso be nice to her please. Parker, that means you!

Doesn't count for much...but Ol' Unkle Pokey McPuttPutt will be there, just before 7pm .. as per my usual schedule.
I'll be there on two wheels if I can do it without getting rained on.
I'm thinking I'll probably be there on 4 wheels even if it's raining.

I'm hoping to make it... along with 1-4 BTVBN n00bs.
Will depend on if my realtor wants to show me a couple houses tonight.

Probably not tonight :/ too much going on this week. IF I do stop by it will only be very briefly.
Actually, we are looking all over the place.
Chittenden county is obviously the most expensive - so we aren't opposed to venturing out a little.
Seems like Milton / Georgia / Fairfax has the most to offer. The largest number of homes for sale - and the prices / property taxes are generally lower.
We've also looked the other way out towards Hinesburg / Huntington.
Job situation def. plays a key role - but like everything else, will likely come down to best bang for the buck.
