How do these work? Can anyone show up and bid? I'm assuming a cash payment within X amount of days is required?
A man of many names...Jay, Gennaro, Gerry, etc.
Anyone can bid. 25% due at end of auction. Balance by Tuesday following auction. There's a buyers premium added to the final bid based on dollar amount paid for item.

oooooooooooo, interesting
wish I knew what time it was going to hit the block, I don't want to spend my entire day there.
The funky items like that are typically stored inside. They usually lead the auction with them so they get them out of the way.
A call to the auction house would confirm.
"title status - Available"
So we know a title exists, but they don't bother to list any of the important info. Probably a theft recovery if no key.
yea, theft of a rear wheel.

could be a repo. owner probably thought they wouldnt take it if it had no wheel. or they took it while he had the wheel off getting a tire changed![]()

I've been to a few of those auctions and they move pretty quickly. The ones I went to they go through the "funky" vehicles (including bikes) before they get to the more mainstream vehicles like cars and trucks.

One thing I learned from these; if your hearing isn't the best, bring a friend who knows what you're willing to bid, or talk to the person running the auction. Once they had a guy stand next to me and tell me in human English what the bids were blow by blow, which helps a lot if you can't follow that auction jabber.
