If the weather is decent, I was thinking of taking a ride from Burlington to meet my brother in Lyndonville, VT on Sunday morning. Any suggestions? I have already done the Stannard Mountain Road Route (very nice). I was thinking of shooting up to St. Albans, taking 36 across, poking along some dirt roads to Rt 122 ... etc... I am open for suggestions... While my temperament is well-suited for Class IV dirt roads, but talent, skill & equipment probably isn't up to the task.
I don't go fast or crazy just enjoy rolling along checking out the scenery, avoiding livestock & turkeys in the road... you know the VT usual things.![]()
Ol' Unkle Pokey McPutt-Putt's riding goal is safe & steady.
Take 302 from Barre to Wells River - There's a lot of fresh pavement in the good sections.

Head over to Johnson, take 100C up to 100, take 100 up to Lowell, make a right onto 58, follow 58 to where it ends on 5A. From here you can turn right and follow 5A and 5 down to Lyndonville, or if you have time, turn left, head up to 105, make a right and follow 105 to just before Island Pond, then make another right onto 114 and follow that down to Lyndonville.

I definitely recommend 5A past lake willoughby if you haven't been through there before. Very nice.

Thanks MarkBVT & K'Dogg ... I haven't been by Lake Willoughy for eons. I will definitely add that to "The Plan"... fingers crossed for good-decent weather on Sunday.
I like 114 north east of lyndonville too. I have a cabin up there!
I gotta get up there on the bike more often. Have a blast!
