Figured its time for an update...I took off for a ride Monday morning and got blasted by a wave of nostalgia as I rode off in the brisk 55* weather. Reminded me of some of those early morning T Road runs we used to make...then I met up with some friends, and froze my ass off going up Mt. Lemmon.
Anyway, the quick and sleezy...
-Bumped to Expert this year
-Racing at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway
-Sponsored by Evan Steel Performance
-XCEL Track Days Rider Coach
-Working with Jake Holden at his Riders Clinic held at the local go-kart track. We developed a program working with novice and intermediate TD/Street riders on how to be more capable on, and off the race track.
-Sport Bike Program at the Musselman Honda Circuit is going really well. We hold 1 TD a month, and consistantly have 30+ bikes, and we are now running a Time Attack Event to introduce more of a race atmosphere (we can race head to head cause its not really safe, so a TA is the next best thing).
-And, uh, suprisingly, barely broke the 10k mile mark on the street bike last year...Doc, you'd be proud. My street adventures are 80% to and from work. I'm at the track almost every weekend.
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the wonderful "winter" weather.
PS-it snowed here last week, and I wanna say the high was lower here than it was in VT. Miss ya'll!

This displaced VT'er in NH is jealous, I need to move to AZ so I can haz track time 24/7. What the hell man all the women out there ride? I really need to move to AZ. Finding a woman that rides out here is like winning the lottery.
AZ over VT? What, did you get sick of shovelling your driveway?

Sounds like you have met some of your moto goals and finally lost the arrogance part of "Humble arrogance", I bet Jake had something to do with that.
Good job Billy boy.
Now come back here and show me how it's done.

Great to hear you're well Billy. I got your VM a while back. Life's not too conducive to phone calls these days. This weekend will be my first time off since January. I'm pulling "80" hour work weeks. Not much fun mostly, but now and again I find myself thumping on a chest or helping remove an organ here and there. Then I remember why I like surgery so much.
I'll be in touch this spring. I'm moving to Florida for a residency. Not Vermont as I had hoped, but the program I'm headed to is one of the top-10.
Don't hesitate to give a call at any time. It usually takes me a week or so to get back in touch with folks, including my father and sister....yes, I live in a hole...a black hole.
Keep riding for me. My duc is gathering dust in a garage (then again it is winter). I recall the T-Road days VERY fondly, or the pit bikes in your yard, not to mention the BoMo days. Hope all is well in the Southland. Cheers fella!

Agreed. I'll call when I visit again for sure!
Well Pete, I'm pretty sure you were there for 1/3 of it. I'll let Trouble fill in the gaps. Here's the brief overview.
September 27-29, 2009:
3 Track Days with 3 organizations.
Day #1- LAPS TD
Crashed my Aprilia in the T6 after bumping up to A Group. Bent front rim, Ape is outta commission. Robbie from Cyclewise lets me borrow his Triumph TT600 shod with 209 GP's.
Day #2-Tony's TD
Wet, cold, foggy morning. A group, third lap, heading into T3, washed the front end, totaled the bike. Def. outta comission.
Afternoon/Evening of Day #2-
Spent time with Trouble getting a certain Hawk Race Bike running. Through a series of failed bump starts, a few beers, and some laughing in the parking lot, we found that the fuel petcock was closed...awesome.
Day #3- Boston Moto TD
"Hey John, can you bump start me...again? Please? No...? 8 times too many? Ok, I got this"
Got pretty good at doing it myself. Till I tried it in front of the garages, and stalled the bike, ninja flipped over the handle bars, and to everyones amazment, landed on my feet. Didn't crash on track, but at the point, I was riding like a pussy.
