Went for a ride today before the storm rolled through, and decided it was time for me to take my bike down to Green Mountain National Forest, since my skills on the bike have improved so much in the last 2 weeks (and to use my new rear tire since I broke it in yesterday). Anyway I went down 89, then 100S towards the forest, and I got to some spot where they are putting a new stoplight in on a part of the road before warren. I guess I can understand why they are doing it, as everytime I'm down there recently as soon as I pull the road I just want to go at least 65 to keep the pep level up. So anyway, theres nothing that can be done about it, but does anybody know if they are putting more of these lights up? Where? They seem to be doing lots of road work all over Vermont but I'm hoping its just to improve road quality, and not to install "safety features." (read party-stoppers). Weather looks clear for the weekend, hopefully everyone will get out.

Where on 100? North or south of Warren? What's the intersection?
I'd rather see them repave Rt 125, personally, but I suppose that would cost more than a traffic light anyway...

Sorry its on 100 north of warren and south of Irasville, I think. Looked like a total shit job to be honest, there isnt even an intersection. It's in the middle of some farm land, and is clearly intended to slow people down. Might have gone up just today, as it wasnt operational, and it is literally just two light posts on the sides of the road. I also might be wrong about the location, my mind is fried from the 100S to 125W run. AMAZING!

I thought 125 was all dirt. When Bread Freak and I rode a bit ago, I went over it expecting dirt and found none. It really wasn't that bad. I'd not try to drag a knee on it, not even in Ripton...but if you need to go from RT 100 to 116 / 7 it's pretty damn handy. I've been avoiding it all summer when I didn't have to
125 is pretty bumpy in places, which is unfortunate because the curves are really good on it. I dunno, I was breaking the speed limit pretty seriously in there and felt marginally safe still. So many other well-paved roads in vermont though, so I guess I don't mind.

I hate "safety features"...fucking zeros on the town Select Boards...they did the same thing in Monkton and Hinesburg...2 lights in the Burg cause MASSIVE build up for at least 1.5 miles on 116 during rush hour, and there were 2 recent stop sign installations in Monkton with the intention of slowing people down...hasn't really worked, more people run the stop signs now, and they speed through "town"...utter nonsense...

Sounds like they need some traffic circles. They could be complete retards and make said circles WAY too small so trucks have to go over the curbs that are a good 4-6 inches in height.
Pretty lame.
Not setting up to fix the road were they?
Like just before a bridge?
Some place where it might be one lane for sometime?

Are you sure they aren't the temporary ones, just put in place for bridge repair ?

uhhhh I dunno, I didn't ride any bridges yesterday that I can remember that were being worked on.
Details man! We need details!
Who's in charge and let's start a petition.
Ran 125 back in May, not great but better than last fall.
It's a temporary thing, they are building a tunnel for the dairy farmer.

It's north of Waitsfield, maybe 1/2 mile south of 100/100B intersection.
