You are receiving this because you were at last years event and or you have shown interest and I am hoping to get your participation in this years event. With your help we feel we can bring awareness to the general public and make a more close knit motorcycling community.
We are in the early planning stages of the 2nd annual Motorcycle Awareness/Safety day for Saturday April 18th 2009. **Date Change**
Last years even was great and we are looking to make this years event even better.
Details are needing to be worked out but what we envision is to expand on last years event and have more groups set up small displays (20x20) to show off bikes, equipment, and services INDOORS at the Champlain Valley Expo!! http://cvexpo.org/expocentre.aspx
Yes we are looking to book the Expo this year. A small fee will need to be charged per vendor. The more vendors the smaller the fee. (FYI, Just 16 vendors would make it $50 each). The Expo is giving us a HUGE break o the booking and they are very excited about building this event in the future. We feel this will add greatly to the event! Let me know if there are any concerns. As a back up we can still have it in the same spot as last year (Fanny Allen Parking lot)
If you cannot attend the event but would like to donate items for our raffle please contact me. Again this year Tony's trackdays is the first to donate for the event with a Trackday (a $250 value)!
This event will bring awareness to the local population that bikes are back on the road, promote safe riding and increase business opportunities. We hope to continue to sponsor this event Annually.
Last year we had participation/ donations from...
Paul Graves and the VT State MSF
Green Knights MC http://www.greenknightsmc.com/index.html
Vermont Army National Guard
Motorcycle police from a number of agencies
Green Mountain Harley Davidson http://www.greenmtnharley.com/

Hathaways Kettle Corn and Ice Cream
If you are interested in supporting this event, would like more information or know of other agencies that we should contact. Please contact me.
Our schedule for this years event is looking like this.
***April 11th will be our final day of planning. (most likely at the Expo) We will most likely do a site walk and try to get a final idea as to where people would like to set up and how the event will flow. 6pm.
***April 18th THE BIG DAY***
We envison vendors set up and ready by 9am, we will advertise that this event on local TV and radio and with flyers to be from 9am-4pm. We should be all packed up and out of there by 6pm.
The vision is for vendors to have new bikes, products and PPE (Helmets, Jackets, etcs) to show off. Maybe your shops would like to have raffles or flyers to hand out. We are working on possibly getting some "custom" bikes also. Depending on spacing we may have other events planned. (Slow drag races again?)
Anything you would like to suggest to make the event better would be appreciated. This thing is mushrooming from something small to quite a large event. Let's hope the weather holds. I hope to hear from you all confirming your participation soon.
***Press release below***
Motorcycle Awareness Day
Vermont Green Nights military motorcycle club will host their 2nd Annual Motorcycle Awareness Day.
Saturday, April 18th, 2009 this year at our new venue! The Champlain Valley Expo! http://cvexpo.org/expocentre.aspx
Again this year the Green Nights, a local military motorcycle club is hosting a Motorcycle Awareness Day Saturday, May 16th, 2009 from 9am – 3pm at the Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Jct, VT. The goal being to promote motorcycle safety, awareness, camaraderie and raise a little money for the Vermont National Guard Charitable Fund. The Vermont Charitable Foundation is a private, non-profit organization. They help all military families in Vermont, both deployed and not deployed. They also provide assistance to Family Readiness events, both Air and Army.
“We really just want the general public to be aware that the bikes are back on the road” stated Michael "Doc" Lemire, the Green Knights chapter president that has headed up the event. “We are also looking to educate riders to what is out there for vendors and training.”
The Awareness Day will include organizations such as; Vermont Rider Education Program, The VT Amy and Air Guard Safety Offices, Green Mountain Harley-Davidson, Tony’s Track Days, “Cruzin for a Cure” and other motorcycle related vendors. There will be a motorcycle race team, specialty bikes on display, motorcycle training groups, a slow drag race competition, local emergency services and more. Food and beverages will be available.

You misspelled "Awareness."
I won't comment on the irony.

I always misspell awareness...I will put Sponsored by The Green Knights underneath MAD and no, the BG will stay black. Trust me.
so just the email for contact info?
I'm at work, so this won't be ready till Wednesday. I can have prints made up, but $$$ right now is mad tight.

I'd like to see a time added (9-4) after the date and the word "sponsored" spelled right. After that I think it's good to go. Anybody else?

I gotta admit I was with Doc on the white background until I printed them both and put them up on the wall. The black stands out much better. It's all about visibility, right? I'm going to make a bunch of copies of the black version and pass them out to dealers this afternoon. Doc, I'll let you know who I hit up to save repetition.
