Those are a completely different animal, I wouldn't want to try riding one amongst a bunch of pitbikes.
So, With the Kart track so close, and most of the bikes going on craigslist for $3-400+, my next question is:
would this work:

Then can you get slicks at roadside?
I really wanna try this, it looks like a friggin hoot.
Yes that would work. FTMS sells tires. :D
I love how we're all getting excited about this in... ...September :/
:fyi:

2008!!!
In my defense, I learned about this pit bike racing stuff at the Super Cycle Showcase.
At the same time, Who's to say we don't spike the tires for some snow/ice racing??!!
PLUS, in the fall, we can have full on pit-bike races and the LRRS and other track days won't take folks away...Of course I'm gone for September...well, to Hanover anyway.
I wish I had $600 of disposable income, and whatever it costs to get slicks
oh well
Ice racing is going to happen. So no one should hesitate to buy one in September! :woot:
I am sure it is difficult to scrounge up the money and set goals. Buying a newer bike after putting so much money into your EX500 and then selling it set you back I am sure.
As I have said. I will buy another bike if I get enough people interested in renting it to try it out. I had one before and all people wanted to do was ride it for a day and then never buy one themselves.
I would even buy a bike and work a payment plan with someone (with some colateral) if that would do it.
(tires are about $50 each)
I am not made of money but I can help a little bit.
I'm also toying with the fact of buying a track bike. I really feel like I'd rather have one of those than a pitbike.
ummm. i have a bike that is for sale. cheap! :poke: plus extras
So, who exactly has a pit bike? Who would be playing? The bill from for my 998 reacquisition was not inexpensive...In theory we could do this until the snow falls...right?
Even after the snow flies.
I have one, my friend Ken has one and so does Lee. Chris comes over from NH and Kosta has shown up to bum rides (as have Bill, Mark and a few others)
If you can get one (and can get time off to run it) I think that would make a solid 5 on track at one time.
In my defense, I went out and bought a BAD ASS Fiddy...then it was stolen.
I can see this picking up if some people commit to getting things off the ground...not just Doc. Miles at MotoFab is interested, Robbie and the boys at CycleWise all have pitbikes.
And I bet if you're really nice, Trouble will plow a "track" on Monkton Pond this winter in exchange for tasty beer.
